It's the market were in alongside a lot of other non-parachute champ clubs. Develop players, sell on and reinvest is the only way we can create the ffp headroom to compete in the longer term with the sides at the top of the division with the Prem money.
This can’t be true, only last week I read on here how **** he was because the scuffed a shot n scored.
In previous seasons we’ve paid some of the lowest wages so couldn’t attract players with a decent pedigree. We were left we cheap punts like Eaves and Magennis who were always unlikely to excel at championship level. With Acun we now have ambition and a wider scouting network, I’m a lot more confident in us finding an adequate replacement. It’s a risk, but would create a decent amount of FFP headroom. Depending on the price I’d be tempted to take it.
I don't think we will be asking anything close to £20m for him. I reckon we have quoted teams £10m-£12m with us willing to accept £9m-£10m. £15m can get you Neal Maupay etc. who has scored regular goals in the Championship and Premier League. It would probably get you Danny Ings too.
Maybe those mystery backer claims were actually true…he seems to be a Fenerbahce fan like Acun, even sponsored their stadium
I would be very surprised if there were not people from the club, players relatives and even players themselves registered on here and even posting. It is a great way of monitoring fan opinion and even nudging in new things and checking they wont upset too many people. Some players like to read what is said about them whereas others hate it but there will definately be some looking. Maybe Big Vern is James Scott?
Without going down this rabbit hole again, I still struggle to see how we’re at our FFP limit already. It’s a £39m loss over 3 seasons is it not? Would have to be a massive loss this year to even take us close to that. Even without the KLP sale I would’ve hoped we’d be fine.
Given what other players are selling for, and his value to the squad, anything less than £15m would be crazy. If we're going to sell, now's the time to do it. We're not realistically going to get promoted this season, let him go and bring in another striker as part of the wider rebuild.
It's 39m losses above income in any rolling 3 year period. So the contracts we handed out in summer were governed by losses in the previous rolling period as well as affecting the forthcoming rolling period. Its not necessarily about this year in isolation.
Young goalkeepers Harvey Cartwright and David Robson have returned to the club following their respective loan spells at Peterborough and Crawley.
That's perfectly believable, but what was being suggested was that Baz Cooper was copying stories from off here. That really isn't believable. He's not one of those gutter-tier aggregators who just rehash every possible link they find anywhere. He's connected within the club.
If the price is right you have to take it... the business model for this club has to be similar to others who have succeeded that way... IMO we have already made replacement in Tetteh who I dont think was bought to play where he is playing... I'm sure he would do a fabulous job in Oscars role as much as I'd hate to see him go. I'd hate him to go somewhere crap like Everton... he deserves better..
