I’m looking forward to seeing a team put two players on the line for when JWP is in range, and for us to cleverly pass it in with the extra men.
Must admit, stayed up to watch in case we were on a bit earlier, but rewarded and some decent Saints comments after, amazing!
We're also beginning to get the new manager bounce. It will be interesting to see how we handle bad patches when they come around.
Loved Jones’s reaction at the end! The players seem to really like him and were chuffed for him. I had, and probably still will, have some questions about Jones as a premier league manager, but one of his strengths seems to be how he manages the players and builds team spirit. And to be fair to him, we have progressed since some of the really poor performances a few weeks ago. Let’s hope we can keep this up.
Watch him kick the post out in frustration.[/QUOTE] He 100% knew what was coming, they all did, but still couldnt stop it
Think JWP deserves a bit more credit for the Pickford non dive It looks to me that he takes the free kick quicker than planned as he sees what Everton have planned with putting someone on the line
Surprised Lampard was not fired today. I had been expecting it in the news but am guessing the board might have to consuder their own futures before they sack him! If I was an Everton fan, I would be worried as to how the club could be fixed. Just think that the fans are now as much of an issue as the rest of the club. There must be something wrong if managers and players consistently fail to acheive there. It seems a long time since writers like Philip Wilson were praising Moyes "locker room" where they were targetting new talent consistently and had a definite plan. Moyes must have been unique in going from Everton to Man Itd and failing - seems to be the opposite direction in most cases.
And this quote from The Echo highlights how the squad is pulling for NJ in my view: 'Elyounoussi’s versatility sees him deployed wherever the manager needs him, while his attitude and demeanour have been positively noted by multiple members of the club' In our situation we need plenty of those two qualities for the next 5 months!
Ward Prowse is so consistent with his free kicks, even the ones that miss the target barely miss. This one was very saveable but he did what he had to do and took it quickly whilst the Everton player was dithering about getting back on the line. That first goal though I can't stop watching. It's such a high quality goal that you expect to see from a top striker full of confidence. The way he takes it moves and places it into the corner. Brilliant.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-64295468 Bit odd this. If the threat/s were that credible surely the police should have been notified immediately? When reading the statement on Saturday I assumed that the police had been involved and/or made the order. Bit suspect this situation imo.
