Love this stuff but only ever drink it at Christmas. I save £2 coins all year and then have a little pot of about £250 for booze at Christmas so buy a very choice single malt, quality port and all the other bits and pieces. Talking of Christmas, I can't ****ing wait. I've become a proper Christmas sap since I had kids, the sort of thing I'd moan like **** about, for instance Christmas adverts from early November, I now embrace. Loves it.
Been licking your forehead and grinding ya teeth I'm with you RR re xmas, it's all about the kids. This is the first year since I split up with my ex that I'm having my son to sleep on christmas eve ( the thought of it is quite emotional as getting up without your son every year in heartbreaking) so I'm looking forward to this year even more than usual
Nah...... well had a few g of the powder at the rave but nothing more. have quit weed, 5 days now with none, feeling perky and i met a lass. well i told you that last week. on the down side, 6 hours sleep over the past 3 days and a chest infection that i have acquired today are things id rather werent the case lol.
I'm quite looking forward to it this year.. Was meant to start my christmas shopping on saturday.. just aswell i didn't as i would have definitely left bags in a pub had i of bought more stuff. The folks are coming over from Spain this year it's the first christmas with them for 3 years. Then goin to Cambridge boxing day with the lady. You made your cheese selections this year?? Tesco no longer sell Blacksticks so am planning on ordering some online, may try one of their others. Still cant believe my mum threw away my stanking bishop last year believing it had gone off due to the smell of it.
I've never come across that one. I'll be honest, it would be a big shock for me to not get Talisker, nothing beats it in my limited experiance. I was given a bottle of Dalwhinnie last year, bit on the sweet side, and also a Glenmorangie which is lovely if a bit tame. Talisker is like medicine though, just oozes into you and sorts it all out!
Not keen on talisker.. my mate used to get truck loads of it for free.. I used it once to help ignite a bbq. we were also drinking gentlemens jack on saturday night... a limited edition of jack daniels.. quite partial to Johnnie walker, though my favourite is makers mark..
You ****ing heathen. Phillistine!!! Noted that detail you mentioned about my new coat. I don't agree, I prefer it to be kept simple.
Lagavulin is alond the same lines at Laphroaig - they're both distilled on Islay, as is Ardbeg (best of the three). Talisker is distilled on Skye and is gorgeous
Do they not? Interesting, I would have a little bet M&S would. We'll get the usual supermarket selection, cheddar, white stilton with apricot, wensleydsale with cranberry etc. etc., and then I will get a good quality stilton and maybe a blacksticks or bishop of I can get it. I plan to try and relax my arse away as much as possible as I've had sod all holidays this year. A couple of days away wouldn't go amiss but I can't see that happening.
We have Christmas day down the in laws but they only live round the corner. I like to slope off under the pretence of making sure the log burner doesn't go out and sit and have five with a Talisker. Sad, but that's my pleasure! I might try a half bottle of Ardbeg then, got a few £2 booze coins saved up. Be good to have variety in the flask too for cold mornings out playing golf.
You won't be disappointed! It's a little worrying that we seem to have a bit in common - test cricket, malt whisky. YOu're not a closet Liverpool supporter by any chance, are you?
I can't claim any expertise when it comes to Scotch. But my landlord in Tobago used to come over 2/3 times per year from Trinidad and party and tried to educate me about Johmmy Walker. Red for occsasional visitors (Sky can fill you in on the "I come by you" principle), Black for more important visiors and both Blue and Single Malt for houseguests. Those boys really know how to party! My perefernce is for rum. Eclipse is good for mixing but Mount Gay Extra Old is for chilled drinking. If you can get it here, try Angosturra 1824. Straight its nothing special but add a little ice and magical flavouts of honey and vanilla explode in your mouth before the warmth of a fine rum fills your chest as you swallow.
