Not convinced. He definitely gets kicked but he falls in the opposite direction. It wasn't a natural fall and you can see why he ref didn't give it.
Maybe, but if the referee sees an exaggerated or unnatural fall then he's likely to assume it's either simulation or exaggeration I don't believe every kick is a foul FWIW
It can't depend on how hard you are kicked. He was clearly kicked. A foul in the box. Penalty, they are given for trifling contact now and that was more. But he'd have needed his leg broken with that ref
Maybe every kick isn't a foul, but that was , because the defender was clumsy and tricked into kicking where the ball wasn't.
Not ever kick or contact is a foul though. That is the big problem with the modern game. People (players and fans) think contact = foul but it just doesn't. It's a contact sport.
I've watched it about 100 times now and still not convinced. It's the type of challenge that I'm screaming for in their box, but fuming if it gets given against us.
The defender was fooled after having already been tricked. That's why he kicked like that. In the PL that is 100% penalty every time. Amad was going nowhere, it was a stupid challenge to me.
Of course contact is part of the game. But this was more. It wasn't accidental or incidental. It was stupid.
I think this is the key for me. After watching replays, I think it was a penalty - if we were in the prem then I think VAR would have given it. However, when it's taken at real time and considering everything, it's not an easy one for he ref the get right. The fact that Amad is kicked, rather than had his leg swept from under him, makes it harder to spot when a ref is behind the play. Then factor in that it happens so quickly and Amad's reaction looks a little delayed and results in him falling the way he did. I'm not sure that a ref can be certain that it was a penalty. I wasn't certain until I saw it 2 or 3 times.
He did, he didn't realise that there was another Swansea player behind him. As long as I've got a hole in my arse nobody will convince me that the lad can play as a right back.
I wasn't near the incident but even at a distance it looked a clear penalty in real time. Replays clearly confirm it.
Going to have to agree to disagree. If it's given, it's a soft one. Guarantee you'd be furious if it was given against us
