The irony of the cretins shouting "you maggots, little rats" at the players is certainly not lost on me. Scum bags. And Gordon is one of their own, a product of their academy and best player last season (apart from Richarlison who left). He is only 21 so it is pretty normal to have bad spells, especially when the club is struggling, and that is how the fans treat him. What a shambles.
Like Ralph, Lyanco is an Enigma, you never know what you are going to get, right now we are getting Ralph during COVID lockdowns when we tore it up! Long may this continue!
It is very early days but I think Nathan may have that final piece of jigsaw that was missing from Ralph’s game. Team confidence is growing and the player’s heads don’t go down when we go behind. Nathan also seems to be more tactically aware during games and knows when to make a substitution which has a positive impact on a game. The fight for survival is far from over but each match I can see improvement and that’s what’s needed if we are to maintain momentum and climb the table. I am starting to think this job has come at the right time for Nathan and can see why potentially it could be the perfect fit for him and us. Time will tell.
I recall there being people complaining about how placid our fans are when things are going bad. Complaining that we just sit and take it. As usual I can't remember whether I saw it written here or on Saintsweb. But do we really want scenes like this? I would suggest - "no"
Okay, okay. That was a big relief at the final whistle. The reactions on this thread potentially more entertaining than the game. When NJ took over much was made of his ability to galvanise a squad and create a true team which is what he has done. He has identified the passionate and the leaders in Lyanco and JWP and he has handed the reins to them and fair play, they are delivering for him. Both have been outstanding this week and we look like we can carry this on. Football wise, there's still a long way to go IMO but lots of positives emerging at the same time. Great feeling to go with the win. JWP scored from open play! When did that last happen?
Would love to know what that was about between Jones and Selles. I wonder if Selles' input at half time was the difference in the 2nd half or whether it was a recognition of his general contribution over the past 3 wins. Either way, great to see they are in it together as it was always a possibility that their values/tactics didn't align.
I have previously said that imo we are going down with Jones at the helm. Now I'm not so sure as he seems to have given the team a bit of backbone and they fight for everything. Long way to go but I am happy with the progress being made. COYR Also having lavia back in the team makes a massive difference
Everton fans are among the most delusional and self-entitled in the league. Whining because they aren`t getting their own way. I worked with an Everton fan, and it was a matter of fact with him that they were a perennial top-4 club - despite history proving otherwise.
Very impressed with NJ’s subbing of Lavia Wednesday & today around the 60ish min. Obviously looking after him but would be so easy to keep him on for another 20mins or so. Definitely starting to get something extra out of this squad. Ps. Obviously having Lavia back has helped but even against CP last week when he didn’t play, NJ worked the team & formation to push JWP further forward. Something I just didn’t see with RH.
