Pedestrian performance today. Tired of letting bang average and awful teams come here and set up shop to nab a goal and dare us to break them down knowing we probably cant. 14 home games without a clean sheet is worrying but at least we aren't shipping out 3/4 a game

Teams are isolating Seri, amount of times he was on his own with nothing to connect the rest of play was awful. We need someone to connect the phase of play from back to front. Also wing play was below par today. Smith isn't a winger and christie very rarely overlapped and Longman was trying but made some wrong decisions. We need a creative spark from the number 10 position to balance out our play because for all their graft Slater and/or Doc aren't consistently providing. Would try Tufan/Seri/Simons next game and see what sticks maybe even switch to a diamond with Oscar and Tetteh upfront as we have an absolute abundance of midfielders but not many wingers.

This system works away as we flood the midfield with graft and let seri pick out a pass but at home there is no creative output far enough the pitch to breakdown teams that park the bus.

Got lucky. Happy enough with the draw and knowing our luck we will nab a result against the blunts

On a final note. I find it hard to believe Seri is our best corner taker

Switched off after we missed our final chance about 6:30 into the +6, assuming the goal kick would bring the whistle.

Just found out we equalised <cheers>

You'll have to wait for the subtitle version they're working on. He said something about box entries, needing to mark zonally and not marking in the second phase - they get the contact and the ball is in the net.

    FFS, I need a drink.

It was Elder winning the header in the box that created the equaliser for Oscar.

Aye, he's a grafter but we need a better quality of player so we aren't in that position

Elder made a difference down that flank when he came on. His long throws are dangerous too, probably more so than Seri's corners.

Well, that was a welcome last minute smash & grab a point. Once again, City the gift that keeps on giving, almost gifting 3 points to a team below us. Overall though, grim at home. All the gear, no idea, except we really didn’t have the gear until the 2nd half subs impacted. Hudds were quicker to settle at the off, and when dire defending gifted their goal, they were very organised in regimented blocks of 5 & 4 behind the ball. They had us sussed that with our tippy tappy style we didn’t have the flair/nouse to play around/through them. And they were right. I was just surprised it took Liam so long to see change was needed, Tufan and Tetteh made a difference in driving us forward.

Anyway, to put everything into perspective, I’ve had a lovely day. My gorg little sis was well enough to come to footy, her birthday this week, just a brilliant afternoon together. Long may it continue. UTT.

Poor today, but looking at the start XI it shows how far off we are from a real challenge. I'm not sure Longman or Smith start as wingers for any other side in the division, let alone one with play off aspirations and whilst Docherty and Slater are decent grafters they lack real quality to unlock a defence. We've got the building blocks of a very good championship team, but another overhaul is probably needed in summer. Liams system needs pace out wide and we simply don't have that at the moment. Hopefully Malcolm is available soon as we're crying out for someone like him.

I am excited where this team could go once Sayyadmanesh, Tetteh, Pelkas, Traore etc... are all integrated. Get them used to the league sand Liams style now and have a real push next season!

Could have been worse, someone off here who often complains about fans leaving early did just that, and missed our goal. You know who you are. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

One word for that performance, SLOW!
How many times did Jones & McC pass it between them? Then knock it out to Greaves, Longman, back to Greaves, Jones etc etc.
On the right Smith didn’t make a run with the ball once that I saw, Christie the only outlet down the right, but his crosses were either cut out or he had to pass back to Smith, back to Jones, down the left was a similar story, Longman ran across the pitch before losing the ball, Greaves ran at Them, but his crosses weren’t met by enough of our players.
I don’t understand playing a front 3 that’s so far apart, surely when the attack’s on the left, the right forward, should be getting into an effective position near the central striker along with at least 2 midfielders & vice versa, but it just looks like the ones on the left & right are just waiting to get the ball after it’s been headed out.
The goal today came from a knock down by a player near Oscar, against Wigan, when Smith got closer to Oscar, it became more effective.
Why do we persist with this very spread out style where the opposition has time to get 2 players onto our one player who is then forced to pass it back?

Our corner play is pissing me off, everyone in the box defending, when at least one striker should be on the half way line, Al a Frazier Campbell, and when we have a corner we leave one of ours near the halfway line, one 30 yeads out leaving us two down in the box, it’s ****ing bollocks

when we play Rosie's football philosophy we're poor, **** about at the back and get pressed into making mistakes and give away goals - when he changes his philosophy and chases the game we play much better, attack freely and score goals - I know we'll revert to ****ing about to start against the Piggies
