i repeat, why do Leicester need a new manager. all you need is a brain apparently!

Margaret Thatcher is currently a brain in a jar. Just get her in!

I dont think anyone is stupid enough to take McClaren in this country

Billy Davies or Dave Jones will do a good job for you

No chance we take Billy Davies, AP gave him the boot at Derby. Cant see that working out somehow!

I'd happily have McLaren, based entirely on what he did with FC Twente. Even if he did develop that dodgy accent! Plus he has links to the club...

You'd better hope so, it seems after all the initial choices rejected you, nigel could only be tempted by a kings ransom. Hardly a good reflection on the draw of Leicester.:laugh::laugh:

I suppose for Mr Pearson, the big attraction will be the youth academy he built at Boro. We are still WiP remember. We still have massive debts (until the Summer apparently) and I am infavour of sticking to plans. What Leicester is planning something different and linked more to the Murdoch bubble, which may well burst tomorrow

McLaren deserves a chance. I wouldn't write him off quickly (and I don't particularly want him). His reigns at Wolfsburg and Forest were hard to judge, he wasn't in control of transfer policy at either. We are a young squad who wouldn't undermine him.

I like Sean O'Driscoll and Dave Jones.

Any chance Nigel Adkins really, REALLY, misses the Humber? :D

I understand that McClaren would have come to us from FC Twente, to replace Dowie, had we retained our Premier League status.

He's a City fan, an ex-player and he did a very good job at Boro and Twente, he was ****e for England and didn't have a good time at Wolfsburg or Forest, but there were mitigating factors with both, particularly Forest, where he was completely stitched up.

Nick Barmby as caretaker manager until they find someone decent.

Please God not Mclaren or Megson.

We should of bloody well took Adkins when we had the chance. Pearson has been great for us but all along I've always said I'd still have prefered Adkins to come here, look where he's at now (albeit with on of the worlds richest clubs)

Still, he had a good squad there, so how did he completely fail to produce any sort of results? Starting to think he may have lost it a little.. Maybe we could lure Capello away from the England team, I think he'd be good for us that would do our 2 favourite teams a favour <laugh>

You must have something about you to be, 1. Fergies no.2, 2. an England manager (even if it didnt go very well) and 3. Win the Dutch league with a team that isnt Ajax, PSV or Feyenoord!

Very disappointed with this news - thought NP was a man of integrity - seems this comes second to a wad of cash.

If he does go, I certainly won't miss his post match press conferences. Thought PT was prickly but this guy is on a different planet.

As for getting flak off the supporters - I was at the televised match at Oakwell last season and many supporters (irrespective of the PL has been squad that he inherited) gave him grief as the team trudged off 1- 0 down at half time and said he was a dead man walking. Flak is part and parcel of the game - more so these days with wall to wall media exposure. He has performed miracles turning the squad and the club around albeit with no little cash from the Allams at NPC level.

Barmby to promoted to a more senior role?

Ok so NP's agent is a busy little man, must be rubbing his grubby hands.

When I hear it from the horse's mouth I'll believe it. Until then......

Believe De Matteo is wanting to get back into management, but I fear he would get lost coming this far north.

Could well be McClaren, with Barmby as assistant.
That would do for me - people who have history at the club.

If they're offering the thick end of a £15,000,000 deal to entice their 3rd of 4th choice, it begs the question of how much the other blokes turned down.

Nige's work, through very difficult circumstances, have put him in a position of having such a value because of what he's done for us. IF he leaves us, it's in a very good position for the successor to continue the good works.

    ONWARDS.>>>>>
