We've not spent 170 million. Stop making things up. The net spend over the summer was about 2 million.
I felt with Bielsa we’d finish below half way but easily avoid relegation, we exceeded that on season one. Season two to finish slightly higher and season three be knocking on the door of the 6th place team, not genuinely challenging but a few points off During these three season Bielsa would hand us over in good condition and Radz would have sold to the guy who was ready to fight for 6th I definitely didn’t enjoy anything about season two apart from avoiding the drop. I felt sad at how Bielsa ended up, guilty for wanting him sacked and concerned about the new guy in the seat
Mate we’ve sold two players and when Rutter arrives brought in 9 Rutter and Wober will push that £2m net spend higher, I think it’s already higher with Wober but what value would you put on Gnonto? We paid £5m for a £40m player What price would you buy Phillips and Raphinha back for? It’s how you spend it that counts. KP wouldn’t fit into this current team better than Adams and would you swap Gnonto for Raphinha I get yours and Eires complaint about spending but Rutter and maybe one more and that argument is long gone. You make it sound like the board thought we’ll cash in. Truth is both wanted out, Jesse couldn’t coach who he had so it was win win for everyone. If we’d sold both and spent £20m I’d get the frustration. As for this seasons spend, it will probably be higher than £170m as we had to pay for Augustin 2 Wages gone, 9 wages gained, you’re forgetting that important part
Emu ffs yes net spend was £2m but doesn’t hide the fact that we got the cheque book and spent £100m on players… yes or no? And if buy a midfielder for circa £20m on top of Woba fee and Rutter fee that’s another £70m yes or no. Stop being a padantic git and admit that your boy is struggling and has nowhere to hide because he’s had everything he wanted
Sorry, to just dismiss the fact we brought in 100 million and spent 102 million is ridiculous. It's not pedantic at all. Saying that, I've been pretty open about the fact that the board seem to be backing Jesse heavily this window and that from here on in he has to take full responsibility if it doesn't improve things. Did he get what he wanted last summer. He specifically said he wanted a left back and a striker. He's had to wait until January to get his left back (Wober) and his striker (Rutter, if he ever signs). If he gets those two in and results don't improve then yes, Jesse has to be held responsible. Personally I'd get a couple of aggressive centre halves who can defend 1 v 1.
So what your saying is Gnonto is better than Rapha and Adams is better than Phillips? That's a positive under Marsch then.
I thought we played well enough last night and we should have come away with something. Like I've said many a time, it really doesn't matter who we get in as manager because there will always be someone who gets on their backs.
I'm not anti Jesse or for him. but, since he's been here he's done nothing in what he said he would do in a year. Said he will make us harder to beat.. not happening already lost half of what we've played. Said he will stop us conceding goals as we were conceding far to many.... again he isn't only Bournemouth and Forest have conceded more goals this season. we also look like conceding every game. Said he would improve our position in the league... We could be in the bottom 3 after today's games. He's a heart on sleeve manager and you want him to do well as he feels the pain as us fans do but what positives has he brought to this Squad,Team? His football/Tactics can be exciting to watch but so far it's not working we are hovering over the relegation places and won 2 from 17 I think. How does he change it? it seems he isn't changing his approach, press high when attacking which leaves massive gaps at the back. Is he just hoping our suicidal attack play will turn around and pull us through? Not sticking up for our defenders as there has been some shocking play but they are under massive pressure with lack of numbers when we lose the ball on a press and one mistake its very possible a decent goal attempt. Personally I just don't see us turning this style of play around we are far to open at the back leading to split decisions from defenders which very often makes them look stupid. Still a long way to go but I'm worried really worried. I hope he can turn it around not just for him but for our Football club as that's the only thing that matters to me.
But as I said before, if the players are better but the results remain poor then the coach is to blame.
Yeah, and then I got called pedantic for bringing it up. Also this 170 million included Rutter who hasn't even signed yet never mind played any games and also a fictional midfielder that we are about to sign who hasn't played yet but yeah, Marsch wasted it already. Then someone said Adams and Gnonto are getting him out of the ****. Both of whom were signed under Marsch. He's not perfect. He's not going to get us in to Europe. We will concede goals under him but he won't relegate us. Some of the stuff he is blamed for is comical but yeah, get Dyche in and shut up shop. Did someone say Dyche didn't relegate Burnley by the way earlier? He relegated them twice.
Or you let him continue to upgrade the players in defence if he is signing better players. I dunno. I give up. The guy will be run out of town by the end of the season.
He specifically asked for a left back in the summer window and didn't get it. Wober was signed pretty much the minute the window opened.
That’s bollox too please show me where he said in the summer I need a left back because I will show you countless occasions where he said Firpo was first choice LB
Yes they are two positives, I’d have to give Orta credit for finding him, Jesse for playing him and Jesse another positive for finding a good position for Rodrigo. I’m not afraid to give Jesse credit when it’s deserved, when I call him clueless it’s a figure of speech, he’s obviously not totally clueless but he is out of his depth
Plenty of interviews with the press pre season where he was asked if there were any more players coming in. He regularly said that they would like to bring in a left back and that they were looking at strikers. I'll await an apology. https://m.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/sp...-back-to-strengthen-leeds-squad-41854775.html
He also agreed contract extensions for Llorente and Koch so are they both better players now Missed the football, been in a really buzzing Chequers in Billericay all afternoon so are we in the relegation places yet?
