This week there has been a lot of questions asked in France regarding the pathway for young footballers. All this because of the transfer of Georginio Rutter with the €40m transfer fee headline. French football fans are wondering why German clubs take young French talent and French clubs don’t seem to give these kids a chance. The same can be said about the English game because plenty of kids leave top clubs and move to Germany. Madueke, Bellingham, Matondo, Lookman, Evans, Oxford and don’t forget that Jadon Sancho left Man City academy to go to Germany too, before Man Utd paid a fortune to bring him home.

Max Dean is looking odds on to leave the club this month. 18yo talent and scores goals, even scoring as a 17yo in the Pappa Johns and EFL cups against real pro footballers last season. Scored a hat-trick against Newcastle U21s earlier in the season but is now deemed surplus to requirements. He will probably leave the club for good.

Raphinha is on his way out of Barcelona and will be at one of the following clubs: Arsenal, Chelsea or with CDK at AC Milan. I thought Raphinha had a decent World Cup but very very unlucky not scoring. Think its the goals he’s missing not the explosive pace and skill. Just shows you though how not every transfer works even when a lot of money is spent. Look at the €125m spent on Joa Felix and his fall out with Simeone, now gone to Chelsea but will not play for Athleti again unless Simeone is sacked.

Seems a lot of outgoing players is due this month, so will be nice to learn what the plan is. Max Dean mentioned earlier but not done yet. Alfie loaned to Carlisle, Cresswell should be back and gone again but could be for good, Hjelde going to Rotherham, Joffy to Wigan, Sunderland, WBA, Burnley, Swansea or where the club think he will be best. A keeper moving out is the story? But which one? Cody Drameh situation needs resolving too probably in conjunction with Aylings contract. I think if Ayling gets a new deal Drameh leaves. Junior Firpo is wanted by Real Betis the club he thrived at before Barcelona bought him. Betis have just sold Moreno to Villa so need a LB but they cant afford his wages. One solution could be a loan so that he gets plenty of game time to get his confidence back, and keep is value as not playing means paying a wage and him losing value.

The Benjamin Mendy verdict throws up a shed load of questions. From his point of view he has had his career trashed since 2019. He was the world record transfer for a LB defender when he went to Man City in 2017. World Cup winner with France, FIFA awards from a young age. Does he now take City and the premier league to the cleaners?

The media are today gutted that this guy gets away with multiple rapes, yet the law says he didn’t rape anyone. We saw how Ched Evans had his career trashed too. Mendy obviously likes girls and has the wherewithal to allow him to feed his predilection but he hasn’t broken the law and he isn’t married.

obviously plenty will hate Mendy but why is a football player allowed to play even after getting done for drink drive like happened the other day with Joelinton from Newcastle, you are guilty as charged when caught for this offence yet he can carry on playing yet a rape charge where someone pleads not guilty is binned.

No wonder police are crap at getting convictions for rape when a case like this happens. Police egged on by media go all out even though the so called victims are all dubious, and caught out lying.

Leeds United are among the clubs to have asked Manchester United about signing midfielder, Scott McTominay, during the January window.

He would add a bit of physicality to the midfield.

On the Raphinha thing, maybe Barca can't see themselves being able to make the second payment of Raphas fee to Leeds so hoping to offload him and let someone else take on the debt. Ah surely not <whistle>

It's entirely possible that the money we owed for Firpo was factored in to the Raphinha deal.

Jesse tonight when questioned on Rutter said he won’t comment on that but we should expect lots of comments over the next few days. That suggests definitely more than one incoming but equally it could mean exits too

Yes also a new first team coach to replace Jacko as that should have been announced a couple of weeks ago, but either the main candidate changed his mind or they changed theirs? Rutter and maybe a new midfielder. Joffy and more players going out on loan….

Emmi Martinez pulled off 3 top class saves last night and the Villa fans say they were saved by their keeper. Bad reffing and VAR were MoM

Have a read, it’s balanced and if anything favours Jesse with his time at Leipzig

As I said on another thread, does it not outline his inability to work with what he has, to recognise he hasn’t the players available.

The team went from 11th to 4th mid season when he was sacked, proving it wasn’t the players, it was the way they were being asked to play in a league better than what Jesse was used to

Remember reading that and worrying a year ago. The comment about hoping the defence is sorted which implies Marsch exposes defenders and guess what…

Marsch comments last night about the best he has seen us play since arrived, we’re classed as deluded by the media. They all said Chelsea was brilliant and they all mentioned smashing Arsenal but being unlucky…. Villa manager 4 wins from 6 since he arrived is just a lot better coach and shrewd. They were even using dark arts from the 50th minute. Villa were a club looking at another relegation fight until Dick Emery arrived our manager can only manage 2 wins in 18

Marsche needs to look at the scoreline and consider how our opponents are managing the game before he comes out with such bullshit. But hey yeh we kept pressing and had swarms of players in their half at 2-0 down so all's good.

Did anyone else notice the look on the faces of Kristensen and Sonny Perkins who were sat on the bench watching Marsch histrionics in his technical area? The look on their faces read like they were watching a madman or wondering Wtf he was ranting about. Check it out it’s telling
