On the subject of out of contract players... Who can you see leaving and who can you see staying? Also, who would you like to stay/leave? These 9 players have contracts expiring at the end of the season, with the exception of Jos Hooiveld, who's loan deal ends on 1st January: Bart Bialkowski Danny Butterfield Jos Hooivled (Loan deal) Raidi Jaidi (Retiring) Lee Holmes David Connolly Ryan Doble Jack Saville Harlee Dean
Bart Bialkowski - Keep Danny Butterfield - Maybe, depends how Jack Stephens is doing Jos Hooivled (Loan deal) - Keep Raidi Jaidi (Retiring) - Release Lee Holmes - Keep David Connolly - Keep Ben Reeves - Out of contract in 2013 Jack Saville - Release, not even playing for U21s Harlee Dean - Release Ryan Doble is also out of contract btw - Not sure
Got ya! Cheers! I thought about adding him to the list, but he's not actually out of contract until 2013 officially.
Is everyone convinced that we should keep Bart? I admire his patience and loyalty but if something happened to Kelvin I'm not convinced he could perform in the Premier League. Do people think we need a more experienced back-up keeper?
No one at the club will make a rash decision until later on in the season when our situation is clearer (ie are we going to be playing Championship football next season).
Frazer Richardson's contract ends in June 2013. Saville isn't on loan, he is our player 100%. He signed a 3 year contract in July 2009. He is however, on loan at Stockport County, if that's what you a referring to...
Bart Bialkowski - keep Danny Butterfield - release Jos Hooivled (Loan deal) - keep if we can Raidi Jaidi (Retiring) - release, but possibly keep on in a coaching role Lee Holmes - release David Connolly - keep Ryan Doble - release Jack Saville - release Harlee Dean - release Connolly is still an excellent player who links up very well with the rest of the front 4. If he were in his 20s and less injury-prone, there wouldn't be a discussion. He still has something to give though and his wages will be reasonable. I'd give him a 1 year deal.
