pretty much halfway through the transfer month and very little action at BCFC. In fact the number of transactions in the top two divisions Prem Champs, is relatively thin, 2 or 3 of the linked to City prospects have now all signed elsewhere. The possible departure of 4-6 players not yet showed signs of happening. Is this because they get more money just traing at BCFC with little chance of game time and moving will be less money!

Nice to see the sun out and a blue sky hopefully will last till at least 5pm tomorrow!

Most of the departing players I imagine will be on substantially higher wage’s until their present contracts run out than they’ll be able to attract afterwards, so are unlikely to want to go this window, unless a really good deal is offered elsewhere.

At season end there will be loads of extra players out of contract so will be harder to get a placing? oh also BCFC will be trying to get rid so could pay a severence payment so they get the same money ...

We can’t buy someone till we sell someone. We are skint!

Think it is worse than skint if it was not for SL bailing the club out it would have gone under some years ago.
    Very very badly run.
That starts right at the very top.

We did sell Towler, not for much, but would maybe allow for a loan at least?

Very little value and probably low wages with us. Could fund a loan but sorting out a loan better than we have in positions we want is probably not worth it.
We’ve still got to get to the summer to off load the final ones on higher than we want to pay wages.
Bit of a chicken and egg situation. Play better get more footfall people coming to watch but that’s not what we’re doing at the moment. At the moment it’s one of our biggest incomes to get crowds into the ground. TV revenue won’t go up so selling players and getting bums on seats is the only way we can then buy players at the moment.

Before the latest injuries I’d agree with you , but if Weiman and Conway are out for a couple of months we need players, even if they are not better, but are as good as them, also getting relegated is even more expensive.

Got Martin (I don’t rate him) as back up for Conway and Sykes can play Weinmann role if needed. It’s defence we desperately need someone but I think Kane Wilson could be returning soon and maybe the illusive Kalas returning.

Well, player on £5000 a week goes out on loan / or takes on a new contract with new club for £3000 a week so BCFC says 16 weeks left so will cost us £80,000 so we give him £35k severance pay and save ourselves £40k [ allowing for some fee's ]

The January transfer window opened on Sunday January 1, 2023 and closes at 11pm on Tuesday January 31, 2023.
Day 15............So far nothing but false rumours.

I think we should try and hang out until the summer if we can.. we desperately need to stay in this division, selling our best players only increases the risk.. Daja vu !!! :emoticon-0127-lipss

we were on on a roll ...then we sold Brownhill who is a good prem player now ..but not good enough to get a bid from a bigger club!

NP although has "had hands tied" has made a lot of errors ..management wise..all aspects!!
    says one thing does another!
We had an opportunity to extend HNM contract a couple seasons ago.. MA era ...we didnt
so easy to write in " if an offer came in you were happy with and we got £x for your transfer we would not stand your way"
Any player over 19 that makes the squad & under 27/28 that we intended to keep should be tied down to a 4 +1 contract with an emphasis on bonus' lge position [ real time level playing field] All contracts should be reviewed seasonally.

We should sell Semenyo to Bournemouth if the 15 million rumour is true and use half that money to strengthen the squad. I honestly don't think he will thrive at the top level and it has to be a prospect that he will join a relegated team which won't bode well for his future. He hasn't set the world alight this season although an injury probably slowed him down for a while, and I think he has his young eyes looking elsewhere for his future - let him go. With 7 or 8 million reinvested we could get in some good young talent and perhaps a more aged player to bring experience to the squad which could give us a good base on which to build for next year. Tim Klose and Kalas could be a good pair to send packing, and I believe the former has family issues which could be a major factor in him leaving us. Dan Bbentley seems to have fallen of the perch for number one in goal but do we keep him or we send him on his way with a big thank you for his services.? I think we have a young French goalie somewhere in the wings but have no idea what his current status is and whether he is one for the future.

Although the win on Saturday was brilliant I still believe we have enough issues across the park to create problems at the back when the big boys come calling and, unless we shore up the squad, we could still come close again to the danger zone. It's not critical but I feel we need to shake the trees and see what drops out so we can see what's needed at the transfer market/
