Used to fight a lot when I was in my teens and never got in a bit of trouble. Then one day a lad started some bother and he was left hurting and he ran right off and told his ma. This was in my last few years of school and we were dragged into office after office to explain ourselves and genuinely threats were made to call the police. I decided in my youthful arrogance to call the bluff and told them to ring them and he was the one who started it. "He started it?" 14 - 20 were years of pure fun We weren't tough or anything, everyone did this, like you said. Felt normal
I agree with this to be honest. I don’t see any point in having a sip of alcohol if you are planning on driving. What’s the point in have “a” pint or even “two”?
Back in the day, me and one of my brothers came back from the Lakes having each necked nine pints. I wasn't driving but since it was only me and him I guess I was equally to blame, morally. He got nabbed a few years later, and banned. That taught him, fortunately he never hurt anyone (probs down to luck). In 20+ years I've never had more than one pint when driving, clearly it ain't worth it. Yes, we both grew up.
Will he actually get banned for this? Surely just a club fine? I didn't think the FA would do anything surely it's a club matter?
The club I'm sure wont ban him but I meant the footballing authorities like the FA. I'd say a fine is probably in order.
No chance. Rich people don't go to prison over stuff like this. We don't know if he had 2 pints or 20.
Probably been to court. He will just get a driving ban I would imagine. Stupid of him though given his profile. Club will probably fine him behind closed doors.
Talking about chucking cans, I was a passenger in a minibus years ago, traveling from Somerset to watch us play at Southhampton when some loon opened the side door and felled a hitchhiker with a can of beer. "Goller" (the thrower's name) if you are still alive and reading this...you legend
