So, here we are eleven games into the season and sitting in third place and just one point behind Man Utd and three points ahead of Chelsea in fourth place with the same number of games played.

Who at the start of the season wouldn't have been over the moon to think we'd be where we are?

Early days I know but we seem to have a belief about us and the confidence in the team is better than it has been for ages. The players are playing for the shirt and seem to be proud to be doing so. They seem to bring the best out of each other and are playing as a team rather than eleven individuals.

A 50k plus gate on Saturday, it would be nice if MA realised what he's got going for him and decided to splash a bit of cash on a little strengthening of the squad to ensure we don't get caught out in the winter months when injuries tend to take a bit of a toll.

Let's hope that Pards can persuade him to come up trumps and ensure that the good times keep, getting better.

    HTL.

After that 3 nil loss to the Scousers who woulda thought that by 6th November, 11 games into the season, we'd STILL be waiting for the next loss? Crazy!

I think we're all expecting a defeat at City, but I just hope we don't just go there and lie down. I hate Warnock but I agree with what he said, it's better to play teams like City and give them a ****ing good game and lose, than just play them and just lose.

I'm just so happy atm :)

Our team is really good, with a few more additions then I think we will be pushing the top 6 come the end of the season.

I will be gutted if we don't turn up for either of the Manchester games, we have to have the win mentality. QPR certainly gave a good account of themselves, did you see their owner, he was beaming when they left the pitch, they did not win but they were no pushover.
We've made a tremendous start, I hope we make a strong finish, with regards the fact we had a 50k plus crowd on Saturday, that is due to the discounted season tickets.

I think we'll all be gutted if we don't turn up for the Manchester games. These are the games that the rest of the Country will judge us on.

Even with the discounted tickets it still wasn't a bad gate for a team that's won nothing and is going nowhere was it?

I want us to go on a bit of a banzai charge for the two Manchester games, really go at their throats and show them what we are made of <grr> Fair enough we will probably get creamed but we are all expecting losses anyway but at least we can say we had a go.

Fortunately Pardew is the manager not me. <laugh>

Better to go down fighting than to raise a white flag.

I was at the Everton match and Pardew left his notes behind for the Man City game. Here, I've typed them up...

"Formation; 0-0-10. Tactics; Lets really 'ave a ****in' go at 'em!!!!"

    Could work

I don't know how i want the City game to go. From an Arsenal perspective, it's better if you guys lose, because we're fighting you for 4th, but as a football fan, i want Man City to lose, because i hate how smug their fans have become.

If they're without Kompany that strategy could work. Savic looks average at best, Lescott is overrated.

That's nice of you, but realistically, no you're not. Not in the long run anyway. You'll probably want us to win.

Are you saying you're better than us, or we're better than you?

As in you're better than us, definitely <laugh> As in we won't be fighting for 4th, or anywhere near. More likely we'll be fighting Villa and Everton for 7th.

0-0-10 in the first half and get a 10 goal lead and then 10-0-0 in the second half to protect our lead and keep a clean sheet.

You're better. With all due respect you wont catch City, and we'll fall down the table to way behind you so it's just a matter of personal preference for Arsenal fans.

Saying that, if we were to beat City away you'd have to wonder if we can finish top 4! <yikes>

You're better than Villa and Everton. I see you fighting liverpool. On current form, Arsenal appear to be the second best side, after man City. If only we could play Man U again now. I guarantee it wouldn't be 8-2 now.

City are beatable, their issues in europe show that, plus these big foreign stars tend to underperform when the weather gets colder, so you may have a fighting chance against them.
