You're more likely to open up space elsewhere allowing a through ball in. And yes it was just a wonder goal. You were well contained before that. I can't think of Kasper having to make any worldly saves, like he does most matches. From the impartial BBC report: Seems to support what the Leicester fans have been saying, but not your claims. Regarding Mills, he's been OK, but as you say, I haven't seen anything to warrant his price tag. But it's swing and roundabouts I guess because 2bob Sol Bamba is awesome.
I didn't mean he shouldn't have tried to deal with it - he should have dealt with it better. The mistake gave Clayton the space to make the strike, and yes it was a wonderful goal but at the same time it wasn't a fluke. There was an opening, he took it and exploited it and got a goal. We looked like scoring because we had been looking for that opening all match and it was only a matter of time before it happened. Your solid defending doesn't take away from the fact we were looking very strong in the attack, despite not getting much luck.
Great, state you're better than everyone then pull that argument when you're really low down the table.
If you're going to pull that argument whenever anyone says they are better than you (on the basis of more evidence than you've got), then be prepared to receive hostility whenever you try and claim that you're still better than teams who beat you.
We beat Man U at Old Trafford in the league in 1999. They finished Champions of Europe. We finished 10th. But by your logic, we were better than them?
at this current point in time we are better than you 2 reasons. We beat you and we are above you in the league. We will still be above you in the league come the end of the season so bad luck
The difference being that you have absolutely no evidence to prove you are better. The table shows we're better, todays result shows we're better, some would argue we even look better on paper if you don't get starry eyed over transfer fees and recognize that you have no width and we have the best winger in the league. scum had a team that season that had been winning the premier league for several seasons, they were consistently performing (as champions do) and aside from the odd bad result were practically unstoppable. In comparison you've lost 4 of your last 6, your home record is absolutely appalling, you don't even look better than half the promotion hopefuls on paper despite spending millions and based on todays game and result, you look ****ing **** in practice. I've been saying for weeks I think we have a better team than you and it just showed today.
3 - You have a permanent manager, thus more stability. Two of this will change before the end of the season and the loss with avenged at Hell-end Road.
Let's just see. As it stands we both look like we're going nowhere this season, but we at least have the promise of a new manager and money ito spend in Jan...
This is leicester's argument for everything at the moment. They have no manager so they dont expect to be winning games but when sven was there, they were singing his praises and he was a ****ing **** manager. If we were to combine the 2 first teams of leeds and leicester, in reletively every position, i'd be taking a leeds player. Yet leicester have spent ridiculous amounts of money in the transfer window
We only lost 4 games under Sven. We've lost 50% of that in three games since he's left! And of course what's going on is going to affect the squad. There are very few Leeds players I would want at Leicester.
I'd probably take a few of their back 4 over ours. Sol Bamba was very good today. As for attacking options, I'd take Beckford for more variety, but other than that the rest would be ours. For a team that bought central midfielders almost exclusively, they aren't very good in central midfield when put against Howson and Clayton, who were absolutely unbelievable today. Well, they were amazing off the ball. On the ball they had a couple of bad moments, looked a little out of sync again today at times.
Okay lets do it. This would be my team. ----------------Lonergan--------------- Connolly---Bamba------Lees----Konchesky Snoddy----Clayton---Howson------Pugh ------------Keogh----Beckford---------- Subs: Schmeichal, Kisnorbo, Johnson, Sam, McCormack. And the only reason im picking konchesky is because we both have **** LBs. Konchesky isnt a good LB by any stretch of the imagination but we are weak there. And so out of the first 16, they have 5 that i would put in my team.
So level on points with 5th with 11 of our 16 games having been against teams in the top half counts as "going nowhere" now? That's not mentioning that our performances have merited a higher position. Well then you're an idiot, because we're better than you. I'd have Bamba in our starting 11, but that's it.
I disagree on the LB thing, but that is pretty bang on. Take a couple of squad players for back up maybe? Especially at the back. Aidy White has been brilliant, he's surprisingly strong, brilliant tackler and there's not a winger in the world who can lose him because of his lightning pace. If he was tall he'd be perfect.
