He probably wont pass a work permit. Only has 1 cap for Peru and isn't an "elite" talent so wont bypass the usual stuff. Can only imagine we loan him out

I really hope this is true, he’s a fantastic talent and has been on the radar of some big clubs around Europe for quite some time. Would be a huge coup for us on a par with the likes of Harvey Vale. I’m certain he’ll end up with better offers though.

Acun talked about buying another club to help develop our younger players and so we could obtain work permits for them too.

Signings like these are pretty low risk but can be high reward. He obviously couldn't play for us just yet but maybe in 18 months he could.

It's a good sign that Acun will be around for a long time

I've never heard of him, and that's ****ing saying something.

Looked into it, Sheffield United apparently came close to signing him but then got somebody else instead. Sao Paolo in Brazil also wanted him. I reckon we'd loan him back to wherever he's coming from to get more game time and get into the national squad.

He's from Peru and they're ranked 21st in the world, so getting a work permit wouldn't be that difficult if he kept playing for his country, they have the Copa America in 2024 so there'll be some friendlies this year he would probably feature in. As Peru are ranked so highly, he would automatically get a work permit if he played in two thirds of the friendlies this year.

Shame we couldn't get him to a Copa Libertadores club as that's pretty much an automatic pass.

He might not be at that level yet though

I was going to say Sao Paolo, but they didn't actually qualify for it this year <laugh>. Brazil's league is mental, for a major, international top flight it has clubs that go from being title winners to relegation fodder in a single calendar year.

If Chelsea do not terminate the loans of those players it just shows you their loan policy is nothing but a money making exercise. Sell all their academy assets or loan them out to make a profit. Despite having game time or for the good of the players career.

That's exactly what their youth set up and loan policy is all about. It's a revenue generator first and foremost.

Even so would it not make sense from their view to get them another loan lined up where they’re more likely to get more game time?

I'm sure if they had that option and was getting the same deal as they got with us then they'd be off like a shot, but the fact they are pushing so hard for us to keep them says they haven't ( obviously Baxter is injured so they have to keep him with us or they lose money ) but there can't be anyone knocking in the door for vale

How would that work .... the bit about buying a club then being able to obtain work permits.? What difference would it make having another club? Genuine question.

Basically he’d get guaranteed games at an also owned by Acun club where work permits aren’t an issue until he becomes eligible for one here then he’d just come straight back. Brighton do it with Union Saint in Belgium and Watford do it with Udinese.

Apparently clubs are allowed 3 players under 21 that don’t follow those visa rules, we’ve only used one for Allahyar I think

It’s almost like they’re renting their boys out … only you’re not allowed to mention it.
