3. 4.20 Meydan – Zagrey (e/w) – 13/2Paddy Power, generally 6/1 Top 4 Places, Paddy Power, SkyBet, Betfair. Godolphin hold a strong hand here with Dubai Future, Passion and Glory, Valiant Prince and Ottoman Fleet, all have a fair chance but Zagrey perhaps holds the strongest form and is very much on an upward curve. A winner of a couple of listed races at minor French tracks, he then ran a fine 2nd to the very classy My Prospero where Zagrey finished his race off very strongly having been held up off the pace. He then dropped back to listed company and won very easily at Chantilly. The form of that win and his previous 2nd have worked out very well, he’s improved with every run, goes well fresh and due to the presence of the Godolphin horses he looks over priced. 5.30 Meydan – Sense of Wisdom (e/w) – generally 5/1 Skybet Top 6 Places, generally Top 5 Places. He did well to win on his racecourse debut when getting the better of a more experienced stablemate at Newmarket who had won the time before, albeit Sense of Wisdom was in receipt of a good chunk of weight. He was then beaten at a short price at the same venue, but got badly squeezed for room at a vital stage of the race and lost all chance, before staying on well in the closing stages to finish as close as could have been expected after that interference. He’s an extremely likable type, is open to any amount of improvement and is taken to get the better of more exposed rivals under James Doyle.
