The game has changed mate. Big centre forwards are on the way out. It's all about pace now, something carroll lacks. Also, for such a big man, why is he so bad at dropping deep and linking up play? Even Bobby Zamora does that better, and he's not much to shout about either.

Why look at the past? Look at this season. You spent the money you did. Your two forwards where brought early in 2011 so had time to bed in for this season. One has but the other, well the less said the better. You beat Arsenal away and Bolton at home, so moral and so on should have been good in order to build a run of wins. But yet here we sit and look at the table where Arsenal find themselves level on points. You might not see it now, but for you missed a chance to gain some ground when we where down. If you compare everything to last season then yeah it would look good. But is that really what Liverpool should be about?

Its all comparable Jack,Kenny is a new manager in his first full season(after all we're not talking last season are we),we were never gonna be champions and we were/are hoping for a top 4 spot.
I've witnessed many false dawns and im of the opinion that we need to give Kenny a chance to get us back as CL regulars and that aint gonna happen overnight.

I personally think its a bit silly writing teams like Liverpool off, when we've proven we're prepared to spend money, when the January transfer window hasn't been yet. Its actually silly writing Arsenal off at this stage aswell, what if one of us gets a player in January that makes an impact as big as Suarez and Arshavin did in their first 6 months? Something like getting Tevez on loan for 6 months? What if Modric and Bale get an injury that rules them out for the season?

Its way to early in the season for people to already be handing the 4th spot to Spurs.

totally right but it would make our lifes easier if we could manage to beat teams like swansea at home.i mean its all good if we beat the likes of chelsea and arsenal man utds, but they dont get us into 4th.

Our performances will be really good against Chelsea ( even though it is away, they are not on form at the moment either) and City at home. I don't worry about these games, I know we will give a great account for ourselves. It is the Fulham and Wigan I think we play after that make me nervous!

You'd have to assume that chelsea will hit their stride again soon. That thrashing we gave them was a wake up call for them. I expect them to give you a good game, and probably win, as you're not playing brilliantly at the moment.

yes you are right.it is well documented that we tend to struggle against teams like these, that is why in a thread that i posted and said that we need to get a prolific goal scorer in january, someone who is a poacher and will score you goals.you cant rely on suarez bellamy and dirk k to keep scoring you goals.

We are playing well enough to create plenty of chances but it's our finishing that is the problem. As for Chelsea...you're right. Can anyone see them losing two consecutive home games? I can't.

Its been our achilles heel for a long, long time. The simple thing is that our players don't have any balls, they don't have the guts to pick the ball up and try and make something happen, they'd rather shirk responsibility and go for the safe option of a 5 yard sideways pass, passing the ball back to the full back or softly chipping the ball into the box from which nothing ever happens. The only three players we've had in the final third that pick the ball up and say to themselves that they're going to try making things happen are Luis Garcia, Gerrard and Suarez. That's in the last 5 years or so, ONLY 3 players that can actually make something happen out of nothing. Its scandalous, the worst thing for me is this summer (and January) we've just added more of these fragile, mentally weak players to our squad. Henderson, Downing, Carroll etc players who just shirk responsibility and don't have the balls or ability to change the course of a game.

We need more players with the guile, energy, creativity and mentality of Suarez, not more Downings.

i think you are being a bit harsh on henderson downing etc.i get abit fed up defending carroll by saying he is only 22 because he is a long way of being the finished article cos bascially he is,he has a long way to go and he will come good.we have got to realise we cannot afford the players like silva ballotelli augero etc etc,but i feel we need to get tevez whether on loan or a permanent deal.
