That’s peanuts for the 10 biggest club in Europe…or is it the world?

That should be no problem for a club which charges its fans the highest ticket prices in English football…or is that European football?

£36mill is a drop in the ocean for a club that built a billion pound stadium to hold non footballing events so that the football team can benefit about 3 years ago

    Then again I forget

We are that club who wants to join the super league but we win **** all…typical Levy/Enic
We are that club that classes itself as one of the elite top 6 in England…must be due to all the money we make because we’ve won 1 trophy out of 67 possible whilst the other 5 have won 60…so it can’t be that.

winning on the pitch is not a burning desire so with that in mind…I’ll see you on deadline day bro when Levy has managed to get £50 off the release clause and claim the win but damn…we’ve ran out of time to sign him

    maybe in the summer folks

    and don’t forget

    ‘we tried’

Wouldn’t get too upset. Presumably, it’s only so they can command a higher fee for him. He’ll still be leaving them this Summer IMO. By all accounts, he doesn’t seem to be 100% committed at Brighton anymore, which explains why de Zerbi has dropped him from the starting XI. You have a good chance of signing him still.

I think Mitoma looks a real quality player though. Would absolutely love him at Arsenal, but not gonna happen sadly.

If this is a player who Conte wants, and who will improve our first XI, then £36.7m should be no problem, just go out and pay what is required, it is not going to break Banco de Levy. Worry about getting players out later, get the player in before somebody else does, it is so frustrating the way ENIC do business.

There's another angle to this that needs to be considered: Sporting will have a gaping hole in their team if Porro does leave this month (let alone if the Porro/Edwards deal actually does happen) and they will need to immediately sign quality - especially since their season is already up **** creek as they are currently sitting in fourth. Yes, you read that right: in a three-team league, Sporting are currently five points off third

Why do I bring this up? Well, it actually benefits both parties if we have an agreement to let Sporting get Porro's replacement sorted out without the risk of them getting gouged by a team who know they have the best part of £30m (once the sell-on fee has been deducted) in their pocket, and once that is sorted out we pay the release clause and get the player we want while they have the replacement they want and a spare chunk of change in their pocket they might not have had

That may also explain why Madueke is back on the agenda, because with Sporting staring at the ECL right now they wouldn't want to lose their entire right flank, especially as they haven't played Benfica yet this season and at present the only ways Sporting can get themselves into Champions League contention is either a championship-level run of form, a total bottle job from second-placed Braga, or third-placed Porto make a bollocks out of the remainder of their season, and losing their entire right flank will likely cripple them not just for the remainder of this season but the next season or two they'd be screwed as they won't have CL money to sustain their squad

Perisic - 8/10 - assist king but not hit peak form yet.
Lenglet - 7/10 - best ball playing CB, could improve some defensive aspects.
Richarlison - 5.5/10 - few glimpses but been poor and injured, can’t play RW too.
Bissouma - 4.5/10 - underwhelming but not entirely his fault due to forced defensive role.
Forster and Spence - N/A - not seen enough.

Conte’s management has affected at least three of these negatively.

Real Madrid want to sign England striker Harry Kane for next season. The 29-year-old's current deal at Tottenham runs until 2024 and he could cost up to 100m euros (£88.3m). (Todofichajes - in Spanish)

Nico Schira is again saying that we’ve got a contract agreed in principle for Porro til 2027 and that we’re preparing a bid…

    The **** we gotta prepare?

    Sporting player has release clause
    Tottenham pay release clause
    Player becomes Tottenham player
    Voila

Rob Guest is also talking about how the next 5 months are gonna be crucial for Sessegnon as Udogie arrives in the summer and Sessegnon could find himself third in the pecking order. I mean the previous 3 and a half years have been pretty crucial and I doubt the next 5 months are going to change much, we took a (big) punt on a young player and it hasn’t worked out, it’s been a disaster in fact, let him go back to Fulham or elsewhere where the pressure isn’t so high and maybe he can carve a career for himself in the Premier League or Championship because he ain’t doing it here.

I'm guessing that we're going to massively overvalue our 50% of Marcus Edwards and try to cash it in against the Porro fee, or offer to buy Edwards back at that significant overvalue, with a resulting reduction in the Porro transfer, thereby limiting the amount City take out of the deal...as we did with the Bentancur and Kulusevski deals

**** alone knows whether either proposition will work or whether Conte would use Edwards more than Gil or other youngsters available to him. One can only hope that, in this window, we land a RWB who can perform all aspects of the role to Conte's satisfaction...

...and that the possible signing of Edwards is based upon more than "We can get him cheap". To my mind, that criteria has applied to too many transfer failures in recent years - Aurier, Rodon, Doherty, Royal, particularly and to some extent, Lucas Moura, as well as loans like Gedson Fernandes and Carlos Vinicius. These players have been 'club signings' and whilst seen as 'cheap', they've represented very poor value for money...and have been used only in extremis by the coaches.

IF WE WANT TO IMPROVE, WE CANNOT AFFORD TO KEEP MAKING SUCH MISTAKES!

I go back to what I suggested earlier: it is possible we have an agreement with Sporting that they get Porro's replacement in place first, and when that's sorted the cogs grind into action once again

On a side note, Record (the Portuguese one etc etc) claim that we're the only team to actually make an official approach, while Barca and the Chavs have not

On another side note, Calcio Mercato claim that Inter are looking to sign Emerson for £22m to replace Denzel Dumfries
