I have read the pro and anti Pulis posts and have not commented as you can look daft in 2 games time as the team recover and look ok but today is off the fence time.

I work with Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool fans and have always defended Stoke when attacked citing resources, passion, doing what we do well and all the other platitudes. But on Tuesday morning I was red faced with embarrassment and today I am red faced with anger.

We have two home games coming up. Unless we get 6 points then Coates has to say thanks and goodbye and bring someone in who can get the player's heads up, get them playing football and in sufficient time that the new chap has January to sort out the probs. It's great that he actually (for the first time) didn't make excuses but you wonder if he only did that because he realises his time is short?

The players look disinterested and not a team behind TP. Do I want results or football? I'll take results and defend it on the need to stay in the league. But tonight we have neither and we are definitely relegation candidates unless the next two games are very different.

Forget a 3 year plan, I want a 3 game plan that marries football and results or **** off Tony

A bit OTT towards Bolton me thinks but that's your oppinion <ok>
Still, I will NOT defend Tony Pulis any longer NO ON the FENCE for me and it's not knee jerk reaction time either. It must be a first time he's NOT made an excuse because he know's he's gone belly up, you could tell it by his interview. He could NOT even answer as to WHY Huth does not play alongside Ryan or at least at Centre back. He's losing the player's and the fans too IMO.

The Sooner T.P. goes the better.

Well done to Bolton by the way <ok> it's not their fault we're so ******* USELESS away from home. I for one didn't expect to win but FIVE conceded and from my mates text earlier. We're lucky it was only FIVE and not double figures. Thanks for what you HAVE done Tony Pulis but I think it's time you moved over.

TIN HAT is at the ready.

Time for me to come off the fence as well <whistle>.

For the past 2 and a bit seasons I have said that in my opinion Pulis has taken us far as HE can, and got hammered for my posts.

I ALWAYS hoped I was wrong and being blinkered because of my dislike (a mild word for me) of his tactics, favouritism etc etc.

Not that anybody should need reminding, yesterday was Bolton's FIRST home points of the season!!!!!!!!

I saidd on other threads that the Europa Cup, seems like a vanity project for Pulis, we took a stronger team to Tel Aviv than to Bolton, we always take virtually the first team away in Europe - Would I like to progress - of course, BUT not at the expense of the League! We do NOT have an in depth enough squad - too many CB's and useless midfielders - if indeed you can call the that - £70 million later - hmmm.

NOW is the idea time, another International break to get shot of Pulis - TODAY, give the other guy a bit of time on the training ground.

But, who,( even if the Coates family could be persauded to spend ANOTHER £70 Million) would want to manage relegation fodder??

    Who is out of work?

    Sven <yikes>
    MacLaren <yikes>

    The usual suspects, Curbishley etc.

    Hang on - MON <ok>

Sorry Pulis out brigade , but if we get rid of pulis now WHO would replace him. I bet a pond to a piece of ****e that we'd end up with peter reid or O'leary . At least suggest a realistic replacement before calling for pulis's head.

Pulis has got Stoke by the knackers, and there's nothing that anybody can do about it. The squad would need a huge overhaul for it to work for other managers, I can only think of one other manager that would work well with your side and that's Sam Allardyce. The truth is, European football is ruining your domestic campaign so Pulis might need to admit defeat on one front to make sure you don't go down in flames this season.

I agree with that comment, but that should not be the reason for keeping someone in a job who at present is not getting the required results in the premier league!

Martin Oneil for me, but I honestly believe that except for McLaren, pretty much any manager could do no worse if he recieved the loyality and unwaivering support from the board like TP has!

I KNOW it here's he But part..
WHAT he heck are we (THE fans) supposed to do or say? eg
No worries Tony it's a blip, keep playing negative tactics we'll be with you all the way?
PLAY Huth at full back and stuff the idea that he is indeed a REAL Centre half?
Sing our ******* heads off even just lately for Home games even though, we've ALL Of us said we are playing **** football?
I will because I LOVE Stoke City and all it stands for but many as seen v Newcastle did NOT SING because simples..
There wasn't too much to sing about.
HOW many Stoke fans left the ground early yesterday? and WHY do you think they did that? My mate did not leave early because
that's the way he is.. Stoke through and through, good bad and bloody awful.

OK so we let T.P. carry on as he is and WHEN we do get relegated what then?
We would NEVER and I mean never make it back again.

It needs sorting out and soon. Tony Pulis picks the team, we do not. So IF T.P. can not see where he's going wrong..
What do you suggest fans like me do? and 2nd please tell me what YOU think T.P. should/will do.

Last of all, I will KTF because we're all STOKE fans.. BUT, I will not just let Tony Pulis ruin what we did have without
    airing my views.

Can't wait for some answers from someone becasue I honestly don't have a clue right now...

Forget Sven, McClaren I ONLY want to see a team of 11 who will at least ******* TRY and IMHO the last few games we HAVE NOT even turned up!

Let's keep T.P. and see where we end up? NO Thank you I've seen enough negativity the last 3+ seasons away from home enough, is enough.

Will I be there for the QPR game, you bet I will because I CARE and I LOVE my club. I do NOT like what Tony Pulis is doing rant over.

    Respect

It doesn't really matter what i think, tony pulis is his own man.
I believe you've met peter coates and i've heard him speaking at some private function. He strikes me as a very proud potter (not just stoke but the city of stoke). I'm sure he and his family are monitoring the team both financially and performance wise and will no doubt have the same mis-givings as most of the fans. i heard TP on telly the other week when somebody(i think strachan) was berating stoke finances and TP said he'd never left a club in worse financial situation on leaving as when he'd got in the job. What i'm trying to say is Pulis is trying to get stoke as much successs as possible , within a budget, without jeopardising the clubs position in the top tier. That means that we're going to have to put up with the safety first tactics for a while (particularly away). His team selection (particularly huth) does raise eyebrows and there is almost certainly some reason for it. History suggests that stoke always perform well when they,re not expected to and do ****e when they should win .So, based on the season so far and with injuries etc, i think we're roughly where we all expected us to be at the start of the season .
To summarise, i think Coates will sort it if necessary, its our job to support the team , KTF
PS. i can't think of a decent manager who would come to stoke (we're not fashionable, we're not in london, and our best restaurants only sell different flaoured oatcakes) if Pulis was shown the door then i think the best REALISTIC replacement would probably be Curbishley.

    Respect is returned and..
My above response was not a dig at you personally. I have met Tony Pulis twice but NOT Mr Coates. In fairness to T.P. he does come across as a "Passionate" guy and, I'm sure he trying his best. He's also a very pleasent man to talk to. I do not know what Mr Coates or his family think about where we should be, where they expected us to be this season? I know he is a massive Stoke fan, first and foremost. But I often wonder just how much this quote we often here from T.P. will last.

" The Coates family have given me all the money and support I need" Like everything in life, I'm sure that Mr C will eventually run out of patience. I will of course support the team, always have and I always will. I will not however travel to away games until this happens and as you say it may well not happen for some time..
T.P. decides to "Have a right go at teams away from the Brit"
I do not want us to go gung ho, just show a bit more adventure and actually attack teams. I HOPE like you that when things get tough the team can somehow turn it around. We've done it before so let's see what happens the next five or six games. As for whom I would like to see as our Manager "Should things go really pearshaped"
I honestly don't know. For now, I'll give T.P. a chance to see the light, do things differently because I think he has to.

Can not wait for the QPR game and I think it's a pity we've now got to wait almost two weeks to put right, the last few results.

You are right of course, we do support the team and I always will do that. KTF <ok>
