Seems another decent signing, although I don't know whether a 20-year-old coming to the UK from South America can be expected to have an instant impact. We shall see.
Yeah - I mean Mac Allister has taken a good season and a half to get going (and I suspect he's better than Carlos). Still, good one for the future, but let's not expect him to be an immediate game changer.
Completely agree with this. Though i would be shocked if he has anything to offer this season. It is hard enough to hit the ground running in the premier league no matter who you are, but a 20 year old who isn't exactly tearing up his domestic league, not speaking the language, moving continent, mid season, to participate in a relegation battle is going to be ridiculously tough. He may well go on to have a great career, but I will stick my neck out and say he will not do much to keep us up this year. Hope I am wrong!
Things I like about this 1. He will have been scouted. He will have been on our list and we've gone out and got him. You don't add a 20 year old to an already young squad as a knee jerk signing. 2. It shows a continuity of vision at least. Whilst I (like others) would prefer to see us get some proven experience in for the short term - this is a signing made by the club and I like that we are trying to build a talented squad and not going after some of the other names I've seen linked (including Luton Town players) regardless on whether they are the right fit in the vague hope that they will do something. Out squad isn't so devoid of talent that anything is an upgrade. We need quality - both short and long term. 3.Having a South American midfielder is fun.
Well, I don't think anyone is expecting that! I think stats can be a bit misleading sometimes. Alcaraz won't get that many goals or assists, he'll tend to get the assist of the assist if that makes sense. He'll be the one to link up play between midfield and attack. Something that we've been lacking.
Searching for info I only found a famous tennis player! Then I found https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/carlos-alcaraz/profil/spieler/748319 Not sure if a work permit would be a gimme?
The Luton players links have come from one person on here who is just messing around it seems. Potentially trying to capitalise on the negativity. Never supported by any sources.
Well this seems to be a bit of a mix of our summer strategy, signing a young player but one who has a fair bit of experience (especially for his age). Don’t know anything about him but hope he is more Lavia than Mara in terms of being able to contribute straight away
He's Argentine!! Barbecuing beef! As you are a mod, can you change the title of the thread to San Carlos as Saint Carlos is a bit feo (ugly)
