I do find it quite funny that the "Republican" party seem to paint themselves as staunch monarchists!
Ban on single use plastic trays and cutlery to come into effect in england following similar in Scotland and wales. https://www.bbc.com/news/business-64205460 Megan Randles, political campaigner for Greenpeace UK, said that the organisation welcomed the ban but further action was needed. She said: "We're dealing with a plastic flood, and this is like reaching for a mop instead of turning off the tap." She called on the government to deliver a "meaningful" strategy on how to reduce plastic use, which would also include stringent targets and "a proper reuse and refill scheme". My place killed disposable coffee cups/soups/teas on grounds of cost. they had something like a half million cups a year or some such. everyone has a travel mug and refills/washes. how would this impact says Mcdonalds i think is a good ask: a) paper fry box. b) paper burger box c) paper outer bag d) paper straw e) paper sat bag f) toyes were replaced with paer crap g) books were added but f) plastic/foil ketchup sachet g) plastic/foil sauce tubs (whater you fancy h) cups for coffe/ icream/mcflurrys (these all have plastic layers) I) Plastic forks J bags round fruit or carrots or whatever the "healthy" **** is I think personally this impacts the messier kebab shop **** and dispensing machines more than anything else
in ye olden days peopel would go into an establishment. sit down be served food on plates with forks and knives. They'd pay and leave staff would clean said plates and cutlery. The consumerist society that yanks have created an exports is one where people don't sit down (so no waiting staff) they get served slop in disposable items (smaller costs) they throw said disposable items around outside (get the **** out and let the next ones in = higher turn over) the establishment doesn't have any clean up so it costs less. (far less clean up staff and time) the environment suffers. In the end its what I understand as a disposable society. there's entire industries dependant on us throwing things away and buying new.
I won't go to either anymore. Not sure if BK quality is any better over there but it's really gone down hill here, it's even worse than McD now (didn't use to be). If I'm getting fast food it's a spicy chicken sandwich from Popeyes... Or I'll go get full at Taco Bell for $3... I just don't want to know what the meat really is there that makes it so cheap.
The only good thing about KFC is, if we all have to go into a bunker for 20 years to avoid nuclear fallout, when it's safe to come back to the surface of the planet, we know the food we can scavenge from a KFC will be identical in form and flavour as when we first took to the bunkers. Heavily salted dried tasteless meat should survive the years ok. It will be a nice surprise treat for after the apocalypse.
I've avoided factory farmed food since I was a teenager. My dad worked as a night watchman in a chicken factory (many years ago so I don't know who they supplied). He hated it. He was partially paralysed from his job as a lineman for the GPO and just had to take whatever job he could get, but he couldn't stay long at that one.
