They would have to be pinched too, we'll only get around an 800 allocation at best.

Worrying amount of tempting fate going on.

We’ve lost to a lot worse teams than Cardiff at home before - let’s not get ahead of ourselves ffs

In the words of Jesse Marsch at 13:45 on telly yesterday “we will definatley win this game, I have no doubts” then later after the draw I am confident we will put things right and get through the next round. Sorry Sparks but he never makes an ass of himself <laugh>

They don't get that many. Think they get around 1000 home fans....on a good day.

I know for a fact they'll want it sold out so they'll give us the open terrace behind the goal plus at least a few hundred seats under cover. Hope it doesn't rain.

According to L’Equipe they’re reporting this morning that Leeds offered circa €20m for Ounahi and he’s said he’s not interested in moving to Leeds as they’re not a team he wants to play for.

some good points Aski - marsch took over a busted flush last year. He tried to patch up the defence and build up confidence. Not much else. It was and is pretty ridiculous for anyone to hang him on last year.

This year, after a pre-season, more of ‘his’ players … but having lost our two best ones… objective criticism is absolutely fair. Most independents and fans predicted a relegation battle with the squad we had - But when we actually get a relegation battle…one that is largely driven by individual howlers not systems or strategies… we want blood. I understand that we might have expected it but we don't have to be happy about it.

Like you I think it’s possible he isn’t up to it - maybe too entrenched in a methodology his players can’t deliver on - but frankly I don’t work in the game, I’m just a fan, most people who watch sports haven’t really much of a scoobie about what they’re watching, it's just an emotive experience. We cheer when we score, boo when we concede and all think we could do better than the manager when we lose. Our manager has been 'out coached' when our defender makes a school boy error etc etc.

As for improving players. Bielsa had a very unique system but he made guys fitter and his principles opened players eyes to a different methodology, lots of set plays lots of repetition of moves so that players could work as part of a cog in the machine. I don't think marsch is so much of a training ground coach... he's a system and motivation guy.

Regardless any improvements managers make to players once they’re of a certain age are largely between the ears.. you don’t really teach a 25 year old defender how to improve his passing technique.

I disagree to an extent that “individual howlers” are not down to the manager. His system heaps pressure on the defence as we’re high up the pitch and then subject to rapid counter attacks. The more a defender / defence gets pressured the more likely an individual will be forced into an error both technically and decision making. And from what I’ve seen some of the players need teaching how to pass to each other.

Fair point LoL and i get that a lot of the positional cck ups could be attributed to that. But the errors Emu highlighted on the other thread - and there have been several others - are mainly just brain farts under no pressure... other than the mental pressure of fear of failure.

Think we all agree that Marsch needs to find a solution to that... that may or may not mean getting rid of the culprits.
