We are handicapped when they play, they need to find other clubs, it's the only fair way this can end.
I really hope we pull out all the stops and finally give Lascelles some ****ing Pom Pom's for his touchline cheerleading
I'd assume we'll play a full strength side. Hopefully we can put this game to bed as early as possible maybe go up 3/4-0 and then bring off some of our better players after 60 mins or so to rest them for Fulham.
Agreed, but hopefully if we're like 4-0 that will be the game done and dusted. Our main focus should still be the league. If we wanna attract great players our league position is the best way to do this. I highly doubt good foreign players really give a **** about the league cups. So if we're heavily in the lead, then we can take off some players to make sure they're well rested for Fulham which will be a tough game
Anyone else think this was part of the plan? Don't get me wrong, Eddie's not "throwing" a game - but the FA Cup team was the kind of line up you'd see at a charity event. I'm sure he didn't think the likes of Wood/Murphy/Lewis/Lascelles would be THAT bad, but given how the bigger clubs approach the FA Cup - Man U, Man C, Arsenal, Spurs, L'pool all through easily - and given how they approach the League Cup with reserve players, does he secretly think going all out for the 'lesser' trophy is a good way to break the trophy duck, qualify for Europe and instil belief through the squad?
Just a reminder for anyone heading south after the game the roadworks are still in operation just past the Redheugh Bridge (in fact nothing has been worked on at all other than putting cones out) where 3 lanes converge into 1 lane best of luck with that one if you want to get home early after the last game the queues were backed up to and beyond St James'
Buzzing for this one now! Just bought my first place so no internet/tv so I'm going to have to hotspot it off my phone or head to the pub but either way I'll be watching waving my scarf tonight!
