There was a bit of that with a few minutes left. Get bodies in the box and hope for the best. Strange how often that works. Simple game innit.
Roca and Aaronson are not up to the task either, he signs Wober a CB possibly LB and puts him on in midfield, what was that all about. Jesse is the guy that played James as striker, he is they guy playing Harrison on the right, it’s like he’s playing championship manager on the computer I assume he also sanctioned the contract extensions for our woeful CBs
Whilst all that is true, MB also played James as a striker and for most of his first season on loan, Harrison played on the right hand side, as Alioski was playing on the left , so as much as I feel JM is a bit out of his depth, he is not the only coach that we have had to play those players in certain positions . It was why MB wanted James in the January of his first season, so that James could play on the right and Harrison on the left. The switch to the left for Harrison mainly happened the following season after we signed Helder Costa, with Alioksi becoming a sort of roam anywhere on the pitch LB
But…. Again this comes over as a bit Bielsa vs Jesse. Does it mean Jesse can make those same mistakes? Bielsa made mistakes but he could coach a player to become a better one. If he played a young Jack and James in a position he’d coach them to perform in that position. I don’t see any of this under Jesse, just players going backwards, even Aaronson and Roca are struggling and looking worse each time you see them.
Why do you say that have you evidence? Jesse when asked about Llorentes new contract; The reason is because we think he has quality. Centre backs aren’t easy to find and so when you have a good one you want to you want to find a way to keep hold
Not at all, hence why I said in my opinion I feel JM is out of his depth, I just don't think you can hold him responsible as much as you are doing, especially given that when he was playing James up front, our squad was limited and he was not able to bring in replacements. We all criticise team selection at some point when a player we don't rate or don't think is doing the business gets selected over someone else, but if MB felt that James was the best player available in his squad to play as the main striker, then it seems unfair to lay that blame entirely upon JM, when he only had the same players available for selection. The coaching thing is maybe a valid thing, but again just on the James front, the team were fighting for survival, JM was getting to know his squad, I guess individual coaching of players to improve or perform better in a position was maybe not as high a priority at that time. But if a highly rated coach such as MB is able to make those mistakes, then it shouldn't be a surprise if a less experienced coach makes them as well. With the players that have been brought in this season, that is of course a different matter entirely, and I would probably struggle to defend against your arguments in respect of those players
Hey it might have been completely Jesse’s decision - but this is another of those what’s he supposed to say scenarios: - ‘Diego’s sh*t, but we need to maintain his book value’ - ‘nothing to do with me pal… ask that crazy mofo, Vic’
Personally, everytime I watch joffy start a game for us I understand a little more why both bielsa and marsch went with Dan James.
Looked like a lad who's confidence is shot, don't think he touched the ball first 20 minutes, could definitely do with a loan out for the rest of the season.
Now boyos I get your joviality at us being knocked out by the frogs but you've seemingly forgotten we beat you in your biggest game since Tom Jones was a sprog ....
Wealdstone, where Beckford was, very very small. So it would likely be Watford if it was switched, going the other way would be spuds or the Arsenal so doubtful.
Could I just say. Can we wait and see if we actually win the replay before discussing switching grounds. That’s far from a certainty for me.
Cardiff will face a full first team this time and a fired up crowd. I want the sheep shaggers humiliated and Marsch forced to take it serious. The big jessy is on borrowed time and let the fans down.
Wife works for the owner of Accrington. It's the perfect tie for me as I sometimes go along and catch a game. Hopefully she can pinch a couple of tickets in the away end for me and the lad.
Think the wooly bullys and the wood men might have a say in it...... must say the pies ain't bad at accy though
