Tricky game to judge. We controlled the game early without creating chances. Then Matip gave the ball away inside the area and suddenly wolves felt could get something and was a lot more even.

Two good goals scored (albeit one should be offside but rule is stupid). 2 silly goals conceded.

Problem is that was a much changed wolves side against what is arguably our first 11.

Nunez finally scored a goal, but only gets one chance compared to missing 3/4 chances in previous games! We didn’t really create much else.

Still don’t like this set up. Last year TAA tucked inside worked. Everything worked and Hendo would tuck wide to provide the extra body. This season TAA is tucked in, Salah is out on the wing on his own and can’t beat a man and then no one is covering the gaps.

Would like klopp to do something different. Get Salah tucked a bit further in, tell TAA to stick to the line and stay wide and do what he does best which is deliver dangerous balls for Nunez.

I watched the second half after Salah had scored. The way Wolves were able to break and stroll past the midfield was shocking. What was also noticeable that we’re so slow in our build up when we have the ball, it was pedestrian. We’re easy to defend against on the wings, as soon as it came to Salah’s side they had 2 men ready. Why are we still playing a high line when we don’t have the pace to defend it? It worked when we had Virgil pre his injury because he had the pace , now he and we don’t. We need at least 4 midfielders. Fabinho, Henderson and Thiago along with Ox, Keita going, need to be replaced.

People are saying we are in transition, but I don’t see Klopp’s tactics taking this into account.

Klopp still persisting with the same tactics week in week out when it’s clearly not working.

Unless we bring in new midfielders this month who actually will help sustain the press, we simply won’t get top 4.

Also - get Naby or even ox at RCM. Stop using Harvey and Hendo.

Salah out wide could be the most stupid tactic we’ve gone with, and that’s on Ljinders because he mentioned he wanted this earlier this season.

Taking our best attacker and putting him further away from goal.

    Make it make sense

yep, something is wrong….I really do think that Klopp underestimated how much losing Mane would cost us and how quickly our midfield would fold. It’s a full on rebuild now.

We went from a front 3 of mane bobby and mo who would play pretty much every game. The pressing was well drilled into them.

At the moment, the attack is relatively new so it’s all a learning curve for them, which is to be expected.

The big issue is that they will press, and the midfield can’t sustain it. Lack of legs is a big concern. No one (bar Ali) comes out of this season with credit but very little is made of Henderson’s absolute ****show performances each week. And Harvey simply isn’t a RCM.

There are so many gaps all over the pitch, and it’s all so disjointed.

this game was 70% waiting for the other shoe to drop. 10% good play and 20% hope.

that's for me. I don't know how people can enjoy that.

The inevitability of us throwing goals in means even as we are attacking all I can see is massive gaps everywhere being left that a half decent side should walk through.

both matip and konate were running off half cocked running with the ball and looming hero's but not one solitary cm was giving any cover. it was literally one at the back stuff.

they can't make a decent clearance, they are so casual it looks like they don't give a flying **** at times.

alissons goal sums it all up. the first throw out is OK I suppose but thaigo is asleep first then wakes up and decides to not pass it on or get shut but to try beat someone 25 yards from goal doing step overs. casual as **** at all times.

the alisson sees the god damn man closing and actively makes a stupid call to pass right in front of him and not just get shut and secure the teams shape. that decision blew the entire first half as we totally fell apart mentally.

there were several half clearances that were suicidal as.well during the half.

all 3 cms run towards the ball but get nowhere near, can't tackle and are breezed by so wolves where through us any time they actually managed to pass to each other.

their 3rd goal. (how can there be no var angle of offside at a prem stadium) Robertson actually does completely the wrong thing as he has a team mate beside him but the ****ing clown shows the man the outside and he gratefully accepts. that's a horrendous error from a full back.

then we fail to clear the ****ing thing as per.

as i said I spent most of first half thinking this side are not scoring, the 2nd goal for them is inevitable. then they caught up and awful mistake and one moment of quality puts us level.

then second half another error falls to us for a rather fortunate goal but we are doing better overall so great here we go we need at least another goal I thought.

then we slow down and are just playing in front and it becomes again just waiting for inevitable to happen.

Once they scored I was just waiting for thier third.

how can anyone enjoy that? ;)

seriously there's huge talent in this team being totally wasted cos half of them don't look like they give a flying **** or make awful errors and the midfield can't get anywhere close.

it's time to change tactics here. at some point some reality has to set in that like any relegation side this lot are fighting for their lives. the only difference is below 4th is a drop for us and 18th is a drop for wolves.

if we don't start fighting for our lives this will be inevitably a long slow death rattle of a run in

btw its not the first time there has been no usable Var picture because i've seen a game before where it happened though can't remember who it was .
And on another aside the offside rule is total gibberish these days with the most obvious being that ridiculously given Newcastle goal yesterday <doh>

I thought for a few years our clearing of the ball from defence is shocking, its just that we were good on the break or weren't having to do it much as we were winning the ball back high, that it wasn't noticed much.

Alot of panicked clearances that go straight back to an opposition on the edge of the box or the worst ones where it is just ballooned straight up in the air going no distance (Trent is perhaps the biggest culprit at this)

And now we have Thiago, who for all his ability, who thinks he is Maradonna and can either run it out or play so little flick or trick pass in his own defensive third as we're being pressed.

You're right, it's not the first time.

I've seen footage though, he's clearly onside (can't find the video, I'll post it if I see it again)

oh there will be cameras that have him in the pic but afaik they can only use the designated VAR cams or else the lines can't be drawn .

anyway the reality check here is wolves were kind of robbed here while we played what was our very best team bar diaz and vvd.

we threw in 2 goals and the third should have been cleared properly but we gave it back to them and then didnt defend properly but got luck then it was wrongly waved offside.

we all know Cup ties are better fun and there's more away fans in but the crowd absolutely died the second alisson brain farted.

we looks so nervy until we clscored out of nothing and then finished the half well, again suggests low lower confidence.

the reality check needs to be how many goals Brighton might smash us for this weekend coming. our lot want their heads checked if they don't see that coming and decide to do the basics right first
