Cheaper than Pave, £6.60 for a lager, I kid you not, and cheaper than a plastic container two thirds full of something supposedly tasting like lager in the stadium.
I have to agree with you about Smith, he certainly isn't going to start in league games unless no other option, but with Tetteh coming back and Connolly as well as this winger from Palace if it materialises, then I think his game time will be limited.
Not at all. By not turning any customer away. I've had customers barter with me, do I take what they offer or do I tell them to go to B@Q and try bartering in there? Depends what mood I was in and how much was in the till. I have took my own custom elsewhere when places have refused cash. Despite all the arguments against. usually from the Banks or people selling card machines, cash is still legal tender in this country and it has served us well for a lot of years. I don't see why it should suddenly become dirty, unacceptable or redundant. Like local shops, use it or lose it.
Good idea...let's blame the fans for not being able to get in the ground...then find ways to financially exploit them and say tough **** if they don't have right change!!!! I have never seen stuff like that yesterday at other grounds. It's embarrassing.
Wasn't the whole issue with people not getting in yesterday, that members couldn't get the ticket loaded onto their cards so had to scan a QR code / barcode to get in? ( I don't know cause I don't have a membership so always scan the QR code on my phone) There were 14k people there yesterday, it wasn't an issue at the previous home games this season that had 17-18k so that has to be what it was. simple solution seems to be let members put cup games on their cards, can't really blame people that haven't had to scan codes for 12 months or whatever, I remember when all the scanning stuff first came in it was a nightmare.
Even non-members should be able to either load their tickets onto a card or have it in the digital wallet on their phone so it can use the NFC reader the same way the membership cards do. Barcodes could also work fine if there was enough physical space under the scanner to scan them more easily. Currently it's very awkward but there is technology available that would make it easy.
God forbid but if the club ever get in the state they were in under Fish@Dol*n again do you think they would only accept card payments to keep the club going and would throwing coins into a blanket or bucket be frowned upon?
I agree, there used to be a match card that let you do this (without needing to be a member) no idea whatever happened to it. When you bought a ticket you could load it onto a card that you got for free for a limited time or you bought for a fiver or something.
Ebenezer's yesterday, two Kroneburg, one Carling, one Fosters, £11.35. Viva fizzy chemicals. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Ridiculous, get them to round up to the nearest £10. That's the answer. "Only got £20 on you squire...tough ****, we will keep the £10. In you go".
Plenty of positives from yesterday for me, not least as someone else said that we still played with an identity having made 8 changes. My main disappointment was that having gone to 3 up front in the last 15 minutes (really liked Tetteh finding pockets of space behind Oscar and Connolly), we still didn't really get the ball into them enough. We were probing for an opening but really felt at that stage getting the ball into the box more and winning second ball could have posed more threat. Was typified by Elder taking several short throw ins and then only in the last 5 minutes putting one into the box from which Oscar almost scored. I think until we put teams under a bit more pressure in their penalty area we might continue to struggle at home. This is not an appeal for 'hoof it' football, more thinking about who you've got on the pitch and how to vary the at various points in the game.
Having worked within scanning for 8 years now. NFC is far more consistent than barcodes. Allowing us to upload games onto the season cards negates about 70% of the problems yesterday
Yes I have one of those. Just seems to not be an option anymore. Even used to get a discount for using it.
I have a membership but my son does not and wanted to go. I ordered tickets from the ticket office and collected them before the game, no queue & no fuss. Normally get them posted but what with rail & post strikes, I decided to collect. Got in no bother. Against Blackpool, I saw two guys try to get in with home printed tickets, one got in no bother but the other didn't. Stewards just said "Oh, go to the ticket office mate," no help at all.
Well we certainly used to be able to have games loaded on to member cards I don't see how this isn't still available , did the club just choose not to do it ? if so then they ****ed up , hopefully somebody will ensure it doesn't happen again
busiest id seen it in pave for a while yesterday, botanic probably one of the cheapest places to drink in for a pint
Could just open led the gates and the stewards ushered people in checking tickets...like they used to. Better still if they had hand scanners.
