Straight to the points, it's a fantastic result and performance because it shows eddie and the owners just how **** our squad depth is. I know we've done quite well without some of our better players like Wilson etc at times this season, but without Bruno and Trippier we look like a much worse team

I know we have many players missing but still if our B team is getting slaughtered by Sheffield wednesday it should tell you something. I know these things happen in cups but god damn that was awful

It would be ok if these were our reserves and just our kids but some of these are on our bench ffs.

    1. We seriously need probably 2 attacking players. We need an RCM and another winger desperately. ASM probably ****ing off, so after Almiron we're stuck playing one of our midfielders as as LW because the actual winger are ****e.

    2. We desperately need a RB and a LB, because Targett is out and who knows if he'll ever truly come back in the side now. If Trippier gets injured we're so incredibly ****ed.

    Ratings -

Dubravka - 7 - Some decent saves, probably stopped it from being much worse.

Manquillo - 6 - Probably one of our better players. Wasn't that bad, but nowt special either.

    Botman - 5

Lascelles - 4 - Some absolute donkey headers, and poor positioning.

Lewis - 1 - Dreadful. Seriously dreadful. Worst player I've seen since Chris wood.

Anderson - 2 - Not good enough. Loan him out, he shouldn't even be on our first team bench

    Longstaff - 3 - ****e

    Joelinton - 6

Murphy - 2 - Woeful. So slow to make decisions, absolute headless chicken, completely lacks confidence to take anyone on. And this was against Sheffield wednesday ffs. That time he was in on goal.. FFS just take the man on and shoot man. Needs to be sold and we need better.

Wood - 0 - Absolute donkey. Doesn't win headers, doesn't hold the ball up, no finishing composure at all. Only **** signing we've made so far. 25M for this donkey?

Ritchie - 5.5 - Poor finishing, but decent deliveries into the box at times.

Trippier - 7 - Immediately made us better.

Bruno/Almiron - 5 - Head and shoulders better than the starting 11 but failed to do much.

0 is a bit generous for Wood.

Might as well start with 9 men than have Wood & Murphy.

We didn't get slaughtered out there, we just didn't take our chances, and gave them a few which they happily took. I didn't realise that Lascelles is that slow. He has no pace at all.

Windass took his chance well. But Wood - that was the final nail, even to his few apologists. He won't come back from that.

But yeah, the evidence of our second string told the story loud and clear.

Timing of Isak is ironic. He looked infinitely better than wood - then wood came on and looked even worse than anyone imagined.

Way over the top assessment of Anderson... give the boy a chance . The others have had loads, the team played poorly and there were too many out there refusing passes to players in good positions.. hmmm I wonder why

You're making a dramatic assessment that goes against what the club coaches and managers who see him every day in training and his performances until yesterday.

Get better players around him and accept lower league football is a different kettle of fish...he had a bad game in a side playing bad and that doesn't mean he's not good enough to get minutes here . We've got players ahead of him that have proven they're not for years.

I don’t recall him having a good appearance for us yet. That’s my concern. He was giving the ball away constantly. He missed an open goal (basically) and he created nothing.

    The good:
Honestly think you've rated Manquillo too low. Almost everything we did in the first half came through him, he got in behind a few times and I think a sharper version of Isak may have got a goal or two from his work. He's obviously not as good as Trippier but I do think he's a good enough back up for now. Unlucky to be associated with some of the trash that was on the pitch last night.

Joelinton, showed how far he's come as he was head and shoulders above the rest of our front 6 (obviously letting Isak off as he's clearly not yet fit), he wasn't able to lift their levels in the way a Trippier or Bruno does but he didn't get dragged down either.

    The bad:
Lewis was terrible. Utterly shockingly bad, should never play for us again. Wood missed chances and looked poor but Lewis consistently looked out of his depth against league one opposition. Appreciate the nerves of having to show himself probably played a part but he's not worth a squad number on that showing.

Anderson struggled massively all game. I feel like if he's been on the pitch alongside Bruno, Joelinton and Willock then we'd have seen a different player but I'm wary of the fact that I've only ever since minor glimpses of ability and drifting towards wondering if he's actually the player that was being talked about.

    The ugly:
    Chris Wood. Jamall Lascelles.

    Totally T.

Only observation is the absence of any comment about Murphy. He clearly was in the Bad section. God knows what he was doing or even thinking when in on their goalkeeper which was even worse play than Wood’s satellite launch. On second thoughts take out any reference to Murphy thinking because if there was one thing he was doing it definitely wasn’t thinking.

Out of the FA cup, big deal, concentrate fully on the league cup quarter and the league now, and no playing second times. Considering how much ****e Wednesday have been through, they deserve some good luck for once.

Lewis, Laecelles and Ritchie need to go immediately, and Anderson has looked ****e whenever I've seen him. A few small positives in that Isak is back, and Joelinton looked head and shoulders above everyone else.

Today is the double anniversary of 2 much worse occasions, 11 years since 1-3 vs Stevenage (and Pardew's bright idea of bringing on Phil Airey to save the day!), and 1 year since Cambridge when we were bottom of the league and things looked very grim.

Can't say I am that bothered by this loss, yes it does show that the club needs more quality in the depth of the squad, but we all know that already, I thought Lewis was terrible, Murphy looked asleep and there were too many poor passes and passing decisions, however chances were created and, on another day, we would probably have won this match but for their goalkeeper and an offside goal. At this point I think that the quarter final of the League Cup and our league position are of primary focus and keeping our best players fit is more concerning than additional matches with another cup run.

His 1st appearance vs arsenal with Bruce.. all pre season and and Palace come to mind straight away.

He was very good vs the likes of atalanta .

He's no gazza but he's done enough to get a pass for yesterday

Matty looked great when he first appeared and then in no time was at loan at league 2 times. Anderson hasn't even done that tbh, the few appearances I've seen him in, he's always looked shaky and definitely below first team quality.

Get him out on loan promto, then in the summer see if he's ready for first team action.

I don't agree personally I think hez looked very good in cameos and vs better opposition. Howe doesn't want to loan him but would do no harm aye

He just seems nervous and off the pace whenever I see him...although this may come from only having limited opportunities and feeling the pressure because of this.

A loan where he can play regularly for say 20 games or something will get confidence up , and we can see if he's the real deal after that.
