Had dinner with Chris Simpkin and his girlfriend (along with my girlfriend at the time) at Cave Castle which I eventually lived at the back of. Simmo at the time was going strong with the City that included of course all the greats-Waggy, Chillo, Houghton and Butler. I was led to believe that Simpkin at one point ended up in jail (anyone confirm this was true?)

Many years ago went in a bar in Santa Monica, six of us having a few beers and a meal. My dad says to the bar maid “ all these pictures of film stars do you ever get any in here” she laughs says loads then coming out of the loo is Tom Hanks, my sister starts talking to him then from another room comes Steven Spielberg and someone out of friends. There was only us and them in the bar, They come over we have a chat and they tell us they are making a new movie called saving Private Ryan. Off they then go the bar maid says Tom Hanks comes in nearly every week always gets the fish cakes for ten dollars and leaves a hundred dollar tip. With that we are ready to go and ask for the bill and the bar maid says it’s paid for by Tom Hanks.
Bumped into Ashbee and Woodhouse in Kingston when he was managing Hull United. As many on here will have experienced Ian was a gent as ever. Curtis on the other hand wasn't best pleased when I suggested Hull United was a load of bollocks. Time proved me right Curt, time proved me right.

This summer I had Jason Donovan sat on my garden wall. He was filming the postcode lottery advert, which was filmed in my street. I walked up to piper club with my girlfriend in about 1998/99 just wanting to go in for a drink. The doorman said there was a comedian on, so we said no thanks and started to walk away. This bloke stops us and said he heard the comedian was really good and we should give it a shot. We had a chat to this bloke for 10 mins about all sorts of pointless crap. We eventually paid our fiver and watched the gig. the bloke outside turned out to be the comedian and it was his own gig. Was Peter Kaye. Seemed like a decent bloke.
Sat on the next to Alan Alda in a restaurant near Sienna. Next bumped in to him outside the Domo in Sienna; went to the same restaurant that night and blow me we again were on the next table to him
Most of mine are City related but I did see Robert Wagner and Natalie Wood at Heathrow in ‘79 and recently saw Tim from Corrie in Settle. As for City, my Dad was an insurance and mortgage broker and did a lot of work for the players, as well as sponsoring games etc., so met a lot of players over the years. Deano, Marwood, Chris Simpkin, George Lyall, Payton, to name a few. Also went to Bruce Bannisters house and had a United biscuit at Stuart Pearson’s house in Sale after he’d gone to Man U. Don’t know if anyone remembers Dave Gibson but he came to our house for tea once and was only a few years older than me.
Ian Botham was my training partner when I played at Scunthorpe Utd. Most days I would travel over there with John Kaye and Dave Stewart.
