I'm sort of over this result already, if we were mid table and out of the league cup i'd feel different but we aren't.
Newcastle can beat Leicester but they won't beat man City or man united anyway. These cup runs are merely an opportunity to get a taste for cup runs in the future. The squad simply isn't good enough... we've still got an underbelly of Mike Ashley's Newcastle United . Newcastle fans are going to suffer many painful losses in cups before they finally win one.
Man City over 2 legs would be very tough. I think we could do Man U and of course either Wolves/Nottm F
Just don't die and in around 3 years newcastle will have the ability to not rely on lascelles and Murphy
Having simmered down, I think genuinely that Howe has been as mind ****ed as we all have. He won’t say it publicly but I bet he’s ****ing furious at how bad Lewis, Manq, Wood, Murphy and Ritchie were tonight. He wants to win every game and he’s going to be 10x more infuriated at these ****ing clowns.
He had one eye on the quarter finals and the other on the champions league, so tonight he ran the risk. It sadly didn't go our way, but nothing has gone wrong that will matter in the long run .
Nufc fans are going to have to endure much more painful losses before we win anything mate. .. I'll always be here to remind everyone .. I'm doing it for everyone's benefit thet just don't realise it... these losses are part of the growth, the journey and learning to feel the most painful defeats is part of becoming stronger.
I really worry about cup finals, it's so much of a lottery, we could quite easily lose the league cup final even to Wolves just by a bad decision from the ref or missing chances. I sometimes think our best chance of our first trophy may actually be the league in a few years, win it by 5 points or something, cup finals are a lottery.
