I manage the team I play for too. We have been quite successful so far this season since I took over this season, today we beat a team 2nd in the league above us. Incidentally Paul Mersons son was playing for them.

My point was about someone complaining that Ricco did not close the cross down from Nani, IMO having played against fast skillfull players Ricco did the right thing, because if you close the winger down you leave a gap for him to knock the ball into and go round you.

Great players don't always make great managers but you name me 1 fan who has never player or coached football that has gone on to be a successful manager. It's like saying Someone who is a big fan of casualty would be a great doctor.

I was at the game yesterday and although I'm not Riccos biggest fan I thought he played well and, if it wasn't for the ref who was paid off at the very least we could have got a point out of it. Their goal was crap and it was the only difference between the teams, suppose it's why we are struggling at the bottom end of the league and they are fighting it out at the top.

Sorry mate the Casualty analogy is balls.
There's no way I would or could diagnose the difference between AIDS and Cancer.
But after 50 years of watching never mind playing football, I sure as hell can tell when a player is ****! (And also tell when a manager is out of his depth!)

Still trying to get my point over AND concede everyone has the right to an opinion without being petty.
It just seems some opinions are more valid than others. :p
Depending on who the opinion is about of course.
If your opinions coincide you're right, if they don't, you're wrong and don't know what your talking about.
    Great innit?

Well a lot of other people think Ricco had a good game so maybe you can't tell.

If he was ****e people would not be sticking up for him and the manager would not be playing him.

So you're now saying as other people agree with you, you're right and I'm wrong?
Then using the manager to hit me with, a manager that has shown he has the tactical awareness of the lesser spotted woodpecker.

Just as a thought Catts seems to be dividing the opinions 50/50 which half of them are wrong?

I read a piece on a MUFC blog earlier, where it said "Richardson had Nani in his back pocket for the whole game.".......just saying like.

NO you aren't, you are saying your opinion is more valid than mine or any other posters as you are still playing at full back. Plus you are now a manager.
    Arrogance of the highest order.
You don't know me, you don't know what level I played at. (Not that that should even come into it.)

No I am saying in my opinion I am right, in your opinion you are right.

Your the one being just as arrogant assuming because you have been watching football for 50 years you are right.

I backed up why I think I am right with some relevent experience, you said you are right because you have been watching football for 50 years.

I also explained in football terms why I think I am right: full back closes down the cross too fast, leaving a space behind him, this gives the winger the chance to go round him into that space.

So may people on this forum argue and moan and sling abuse. I want to talk about football. I gave the reasons why I think I am right, backed up with my personal experience and the tactics that Ricco used to combat Nani's skill and pace.

You then just start name calling. Tell me in football terms why you think I am wrong?? lets have a sensible conversation about it. Otherwise the conversation is over because I can't be bothered with slagging matches.

Also stop putting words in my mouth, I did not say anywhere my opinion was more valid than yours. You might have read it that way but that's not what I wrote.

How the hell am I being arrogant, saying that after 50 years of watching football and having an opinion based on that experience?
I haven't said you are wrong or insinuated you know nowt, so how does that make my opinion less than yours?

Point me to my name calling.

I give my opinion doesn't mean I'M right or wrong.
But it doesn't mean my opinion warrants your comments about people who have an opposing opinion to you, that have never played football, thereby don't know what they are talking about.
Point me to anywhere I have slanged off anyone for having an opposing stance to my own!

You are the one stating you are right and anyone who hasn't had your high level of experience is wrong not me.

I'm also not saying your opinion isn't valid because it doesn't correspond with my own or anyone elses.
    Unlike your good self.

I'm not putting words anywhere, go back and read your posts.
The only one saying they are right is you and your experience in football!
All I ever do is give an opinion, without feeling the need, to make out anyone not agreeing with me is wrong.

I think they put a steak on it. Steak & eggs, seems ok to me.

He is a footballer though so it will probably have to be fillet or a T bone!
