please log in to view this image Saturday 7th January 12.30pm FA Cup 3rd Round Tottenham Hotspur Stadium No injury news yet, but Bissouma's suspension has ended and we don't have any others. Richarlison will still be out and I'd assume Moura will be, too. Lineups for each side's last league game: Spurs: Lloris; Romero, Dier, Lenglet; Doherty, Skipp, Hojbjerg, Perisic; Gil, Kane, Son. Subs: Forster, Emerson, Spence, Tanganga, Sanchez, White, Sarr, Sessegnon. League form: WLWDLW. Portsmouth: Griffiths; Swanson, Raggett, Morrison, Ogilvie; Dale, Morrell, Pack, Curtis; Pigott, Scarlett. Subs: Oluwayemi, Hume, Mingi, Jacobs, Hackett, Bishop, Koroma. League form: DLLDDL. Ref: Thomas Bramall. New at the top level. Inevitably from oop north. VAR: Graham Scott. TV: BBC iPlayer: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0dstjny How would you like to line up for this one?
We can probably afford to go reasonably strong considering it’s over a week from this game to the NLD. I’d start Sarr and Bissouma in midfield with a view to Hojbjerg and Skipp being in pole position to start the derby in case Bentancur isn’t available. The forwards pick themselves after yesterday. It looks like we’ll have everyone apart from Richarlison and Lucas for the NLD, hopefully Kulu and Bentancur can be on the bench on Saturday and get some comeback minutes before starting next weekend. With that in mind Forster Tanganga Lenglet Davies Spence Bissouma Sarr Sess Gil Kane Son I think it’s worth giving Forster some more minutes in case he has to play more should the worst happen to Lloris, though we may well start Lloris on Saturday and I’m also fine with that. Romero we can’t risk an injury to, the other two CBs are a toss up really. I really want Spence to get a chance and I think we’ll sit Perisic with a view to him starting the NLD. Bench should be a mix of youngsters like Devine and hopefully some returning key men like Bentancur and Kulu. Hojbjerg, Romero, Dier etc in the squad in case it goes to pot and we need to come out strong after half time.
Training video: Sarr, Spence, Tanganga, Sanchez, Gil, Davies, Kane, Emerson, Sessegnon, Hojbjerg, Lloris, Son, Dier, Doherty, Skipp, Lenglet, Perisic, Romero, White, Bissouma, some youth players (John, Mathurin, Mundle, Paskotsi and Robson, I think. Looks like others behind them, too). Make of that what you will.
^Lenglet ^Sanchez on the assumption that Conte has had at least 6 weeks to prepare all the above for this game, Also, do not want Kane to start (but who is currently suitable to rake his place) ??
Press conference with Cristian Stellini and inaudible questions: Nice tribute to Vialli in response to the opening question.
We know Kane and Son are likely stating and so I think we should go pretty strong, ideally get the job done then take key players off. Forster Romero, Dier, Davies Spence, Skipp, Sarr, Perisic Gil, Kane, Son Players in bold to be removed at a convenient time if all goes to plan.
Skipp looked rusty against Palace, so he should definitely start to get some game time in his legs Who partners him is a conundrum, though: Sarr makes sense to try and build on his momentum from the other night, but Bissouma makes sense as he still hasn't settled in and this is the sort of match he needs to grab by the yarbles
No FA Cup final for 32 years is facking criminal for a club this size, rewind 30 years and Spurs were FA Cup royalty, with a record number of wins, these days the club would rather qualify for Europe than lift the cup, which tells us all where we are with these owners.
Dembele's legs falling off against Man Utd in 2018, a crap ref and Son at LWB against Chelsea in 2017, and a crap ref and crap pitch against Portsmouth in 2010 go a significant way to explaining why we got to the semis and no further While begging the question why three Season Killer Cup finals under ENIC are perpetually ignored...
A back line that has Emerson, Sanchez and Sessegnon… I sure as hell hope Ben Davies is feeling on it today. Spence can’t even get a start against League One opposition… ridiculous.
With very little attacking threat on the bench, the pressure is on Kane + Son to get this game done and dusted in the 1st half.
Technically we've just added some attacking threat to the bench, with Romaine Mundle now being in the squad Note that I said technically...
I’d have handed my transfer request in before KO, in fact far before that to be honest, the disrespect is a joke.
If he goes on loan he won't be cup tied is the only feasible reason I can think of , piss poor treatment of Spence
