I agree Jones out but I can also see what his game plan is. This is not his team, these are not his players. He wants to play a direct brand of football but at the moment he doesn't have the players to do it. with the signing of orsic and an actual target man *moffi* I'll give him time. we haven't had a *big* man up front since pelle maybe we could all start seeing a method to his madness once we get that big lump up front.
Whilst I agree, surely a manager plays to the strengths of his current team? I’m sure he would want Messi in our team, but he doesn’t set us up as if he was playing. Once we get that big lump or the extra defender, play hoofball and 5 at the back. But not now. Remember he had a pre season effectively to drill this in to them and hasn’t worked. My only conclusion is that he isn’t a Premiership manager.
I know, I don’t see anything that makes me think he will be successful. If he can’t play to the strengths of the team then how good is he?
Exactly. I have a team at work and I know who to ask to to what. I also know who not to, and who to fill in when needed. It isn’t rocket science.
One reason I am not supporting the anti Nathan Jones campaign is down to seeing the bile being posted on twitter, I can't believe that genuine Saints followers can come up with this stuff? The sad thing is many gullible people go along with it, obviously people are not thinking it through. I appreciate that we are going through a bad time and most of the people are posting because they care about the Club and what is happening to it, but the "person to blame" concept may not actually be targetting the right victim, the problems are far more complex than the appointment of an inexperienced Manager who has volunteered to attempt to get us out of the mess. There will be no overnight miracle that will get us back to where we want to be, but we should at least trust the owners judgement and give NJ a chance to make a start.
Genuine question did you watch the forest or Brighton game? Not the highlights, the full game? He's not exactly "volunteered" to get us out of the mess, he's being very very handsomely rewarded for it
Is your team full of people that are just not good enough and incapable of performing their job at the required level? Has your team been performing awfully for well over a year and did so under the manager before you? I am not impressed with NJ at all, but I also think it is important to look at the bigger picture. The way a lot of fans are acting are as if he has been in charge for a couple of seasons and been able to bring in players he actually wants. Or that he inherited a team on great form and has turned them to ****. Our playing squad has been in decline for years, I think any manager deserves a shot at being able to build a team of players he actually wants to work with to deliver his way of playing.
The team is not great, but is capable of playing better than they are. We might still lose, but we can at least play like a team and be vaguely competitive.
No, but I wouldn’t change the way my team works as it suits my style to the detriment of the company. Even if it is my end goal. Evolution not revolution.
I am not anti NJ as a bloke. Seems nice enough etc. just don’t want him in charge of the team I support.
I did, and yet I’m still not anti him But you wouldn’t sack a man who’s come in a bit green, you would work with them to try and help improve them. Using your analogy against you
The whole point of the NJ appointment according to SR was that he fitted the team and played in a similar style to Ralph with those metrics. Think it just shows that there is more to football than running around a lot
So you’re saying Jones is taking us towards liquidation? Furthermore, are you saying you’re such a bad manager that you would let someone in your team take you towards liquidation?
