I think I saw him score his first Argyle goal during that debacle at Charlton....just a consolation goal in the end....but he just burst through and planted it inside..... the keepers right hand post....didn't take much notice at the time because of what had gone before....but his finish was excellent giving the keeper no chance at all.

Now If Ronaldo had give us a weeks wages we could have bought him and paid his wages for a year or two.

Argyle sign Callum Wright. 22yo attacking midfielder from Blackpoll for an undisclosed fee. Under contract until 2026.

I was just about to post the same notdistant. Looks another one who is difficult to argue with. Some will of course. 3 in and one out so far. I think the fact we have paid a fee for all 3 says a lot about intent.

We do seem to be building a team for the future.....22 yr old Callum Wright a midfielder....supposed to be on a three and a half year contract......the third young player to have joined in the last four days.

Left Leicester last summer and went to Blackpool...played ten games...five of them starts....played new years day....but limited success at Blackpool....talk of him being a replacement for Whittaker.

It took Whittaker a few months to settle into the team before he started to shine.

We really need someone coming in to the team hitting the ground running now......I'm not sure any of these three will be doing that......Saxon Earley a left back has played all season for high flying Stevenage might be the nearest to being ready to play.

Maybe a more experienced midfielder on loan would fill the gap straight away....but where do you find one of them ?

Overall three good young players for the future cannot deny that.

None of them are Whittaker and there is no evidence that all 3 won't "hit the ground running" as you put it. We have no idea what any of them will bring to the party till we see them play in the team. They may all turn out to be brilliant from day one. We can hope and we should give them all the benefit of any doubt from the start.

There’s always a first time but I think I can say that we haven’t signed a duff player under this regime or under Ryan Lowe. There’s a system, statistics and procedure: it’s not down to just one individual guessing. We’ve had injury problems sure but not quality when on the pitch, Have faith: it doesn’t need to be blind faith: just look at the evidence.

We have bought and borrowed wisely.....we have at times taken a gambol to aquire quality......Brendan Galloway would be an example of that....not sure what James Bolton's injury record was at Portsmouth before he came to us ?

James Bolton broke a bone in his foot - or had it broken for him - that's a bit different to a recurring knee injury or dodgy hamstrings.

I watched the interview with Callum Wright. Certainly more eloquent than some, but then, he's a Scouser!

I heard he'd come from Cheltenham and Blackpool but it's not quite like that. Started at Tranmere, then Blackburn, then Everton, England youth camps if not caps, then Leicester, Cheltenham on loan and Blackpool. Two Premier League teams and a Championship side as a youngster. He's still only 22. He explains he learned a lot in 50 games at Cheltenham from a League 2 winners medal in the first year to a League 1 relegation battle in the second. He was a team mate of Finn Azaz during his first year at Cheltenham.

Here's the interesting bit though and another indicator that although we are signing players quickly that doesn't mean it's rash. Argyle approached Wilson very early last summer. He felt it was too early in the year as he wanted to take his experience at Cheltenham and try to win a place in Leicester's squad for 2022/23. That didn't turn out by which time Argyle had moved on and signed others and so in September, he went to Blackpool. So we were too early and it would appear we approached this lad at the same time or perhaps even before we signed Finn Azaz and Morgan Whittaker in late July.

Morgan Whittaker is the player he is...because of how Argyle have brought him on....I think Swansea owe us for making him into a valuable player....if he had stayed we would have continued increasing his value.

Yeah and also we've played him as a Number 10, at which he's excelled. Based on what the Swansea manager said, it doesn't look as if he'll get a game for them in that role.

Why did it seem that we had him for a whole season....when in the end they snap their fingers and he's on the way back to Swansea bay ?

As I understand it, it was a season long loan arrangement. It contained a recall clause but the understanding was that it would not be exercised, Presumably he's done so well that Swansea have changed their minds, seeing benefit in recalling him, either in a footballing sense or a financial one. The motive seems to be financial because the Swansea manager doesn't seem to think he'll get a game in the position he's succeeded in for us. It's what's written that counts.

Just watched Stephen Schumacher's match preview interview. He thanks all those involved for getting three in so quickly - and hopes there'll be a couple more before the window closes.

I see that Swansea have recalled Jordon Garrick from Lincoln and sold him to FG Rovers....is there a pattern developing here ??

Are they short of money and trying to rake in a bit I wonder.

Argyle linked with 6ft 3 Wolves attacker Theo Corbeanu. One Premier League appearance to his name and 46 on loan in League 1 and Championship, yielding 6 goals. Seven full caps for Canada.

Swansea this morning have said that Morgan Whittaker has not been brought back to sell on.

They will sit down with him and chat about the way ahead....they will be wanting him to knuckle down and try and force his way into the first team.

Talk of Young Sunderland mid-fielder...Jay Matete 21yrs old...coming to us on loan.

He has fallen down the pecking order at Sunderland and there is talk up there that a deal has been done.

That makes no sense whatsoever. Their own manager said at the outset Whittaker would find it hard to break into the team in a No 10 role given the other players they have on the roster. Where do they expect him to play? Centre back?
