If that doesn't make the ****in' penny drop at Anfield - 3 points behind now - then we deserve to get jack ****. That is all.
What do you mean 'the penny drop'? Kenny/the team already know we have to take our chances when they come. They haven't been sitting around twiddling their thumbs thinking it'll come good and we'll sail to 4th place; they've been trying to remedy it. Those above us have been lucky with some results this season, while we've been unlucky. That's all there is too it. We just have to keep working at it and maybe our luck will change.
Yeah. FYI I wasn't having a go at Kenny, and I know he won't be happy right now. Maybe you're right, there has been an element of misfortune, but bottom line is the balls aren't going in the net. They'll have to if we have to fend off Arsenal et al. Problem is when you spout about 'luck' it has an element of the excuse about it. Tired of hearing it, but since you're so keen on it, it's up to us to make our own 'luck'.
There's an element of luck in every sport. I think it's the mix of getting things right in terms of performance, together with luck, that makes for better results. We haven't had much luck so far but we haven't got the performances completely right either. When you're playing well, the luck seems to follow you hence - you make your own luck!
Agreed, apart from the Spurs game we've made enough chances to win the other games in which we dropped points.
Those missed chances are were the luck comes in - of course widening the goal would help, given the amount of times we've hit the woodwork
I only mentioned luck once, I'm not spouting about it. It's not an excuse, but what can you do? You just have to keep shooting at goal, which is what we're doing. If the opposition keeper plays a blinder against us, like Norwich and Swansea, it's 'unlucky' for us.
You mentioned it twice [un-lucky]. OK, I jest. Yeah, I grant you, but these blinders, not just the keeper, are becoming too frequent for my liking. That's all I'm saying.
i must say spurs were really poor yesterday for large parts... baird flogged them two goals and then as me and my mate predicted the minute defoewas seen he'd scored a crappy last minute goal as fulham chased the game. fulham has loads of chances but could only get a flog of a goal off a corner.... typical eh? dempsey has never been so bad in front of goal!
