In an interview with Mike white last night, Rosy was saying he is definitively in our plans but needs to play games. And because of lack of height in the balance of our side currently, he wanted to rectify us shipping goals from set pieces. Hence why Greaves is playing Lb. I really like Fleming, so as long as he gets a chance if we add some height in midfield then seems like a decent option for now.
Fleming is a very decent signing for a League One side. Just like when he went to Bolton a few years ago, I reckon he will flourish.
Makes perfect sense regarding Fleming, hopefully get consistent game time til the end of the season and push on next year here.
Hope it's tactical and he stays firmly in Rosenior's plans, we need our young talented Hull born players inside the first team squad.
From one of the best performing full backs in the division last season to league one. Poor move for him IMO. Needs to be playing in the championship.
Should have gone to a Rotherham or Wigan. Should be developing in the Championship. League One at this stage is pointless.
He would have played week in, week out for Birmingham. Their LB (who was on loan from West Ham) against us was absolutely woeful.
we can't actually force teams like wigan or rotherham to take our players against their will and i'd be very surprised if he is actually in rosies long term plans
Can’t see Rotherham, Wigan or Birmingham being in the promotion race tbh. If anything he would help our cause at one of these clubs.
Oh of course he would, I'm saying he should have had Championship suitors going by how bad Birmingham's LB was.
Was a little more to it than just height mentioned in the interview. It's a development loan, plain and simple.
He should have championship suitors just going off how good he was last season. He was one of the best in the league. And I doubt he’s in Rosey’s long term plans either, else wouldn’t be going on loan to League 1 now. This is just softening the blow before offloading another local lad and academy product to be replaced by some journeyman turd who will likely spend a couple of years here before ****ing off elsewhere. Or if recent transfers are anything to go off, his replacement will probably be ****ing off after 6 months.
He’s played 50 senior games at 23. He stood out on a number of occasions last season, but then also looked completely out of his depth on others. We are playing a back 4 at the minute and he had success in a back 5. Oxford play a back 4 so it’s not a bad move for him at all. League 1 has shot up in quality since we won the league
The fact he's just been given a new contract suggests at least someone at the club sees a future in him.
