Looked borderline happy as he went off. Potter is maybe proof that managers need time and games. Except we know he's good and can do the job.

I'm starting to see MCity becoming a bit blinkered and one-dimensional. Always, always trying to find Haaland. It has worked well so far but just maybe they've been worked out a bit. They used to be so free flowing and goals could and did come from anywhere.

Weirdly, he'll miss the reverse fixture between the clubs at Stamford Bridge. Fulham will be delighted with that red card.

That's a shame. Exciting young player and was looking great until that point. Looked like there was bugger all in it but sliding in with a high boot is a clear offence.

Referee had no choice but to send off Felix there. Very high and late. Clear red card.

Potter second-favourite to be the next PL manager to leave.

He might even move into first place on Saturday evening, if our Goodison-curse continues and so buys Frank some more time.

But jury couldn't reach verdicts on one charge of rape and one of attempted rape so will face a retrial.

If he is found not guilty here (which from everything I know about this trial, and everything friends in Manchester have told me, I fully anticipate - it's a tacky story from his perspective, but it's very much a tale of some girls wanting to take the stupid, naive, rich guys for a few million quid), then I hope they prosecute the women involved to the fullest possible degree. Mendy may be tacky and a bit unpleasant (that's PL footballers for you), but this has ruined his career, and City stopped paying him from September '21, so he's lost out on millions of pounds salary too. It's appalling.

I agree. he may not be my cup of tea, nor do I agree with my perception of the way he views women or acts towards them, but if in a court of law when presented with the full evidence he is proved to be not guilty, then the only thing is to prosecute the women who knowingly raised these accusations to make a quick buck. The problem is that this will then deter real victims of rape and misdemeanours from coming forward. It's a tricky one.

That won’t happen. That is not the way the world works now. There is a position taken that in such a scenario it would discourage genuine victims coming forward. I’m not saying I agree with this but this is the position taken

For example I expect there will be people out there who claim he is only being found not guilty due to his wealth and ability to hire a top defence team and that the man on the street would be going down for something similar. And in a circumstance where that is true - wealth swinging a verdict back onto the accuser who might well be telling the truth then the consequences are far from ideal

Regardless of whether it is true in this case

Oh I'm aware of the reality of how it works. I just think it's appalling that a person's career can be ruined and millions lost, without any proper means of legal comeback.
