Some unhappy Liverpool fans on their board today. If KPR was still on here people would be having a field day wuming their board. I'm trying to keep off most of their threads for a while but if KPR was still here that may have been different.
Do you think Liverpool will struggle to attract players when they once again fail to qualify for Europe?
well, suarez, fair enough, but he probably wanted to get out of his sorry excuse for a league and we don't know who else was in for him. carroll was from newcastle, a team who looked to be going nowhere important, for a large amount of money Henderson, bought from sunderland enrique probably thought he stood a better chance at CL football at 'pool. Maybe not... bellamy was waaaayyyyy down in the city pecking order, adam's team just got relegated doni - free transfer downing - same deal as newcastle/sunderland this isn't a bad thing, i just thinks its harder to prise talent from the rest of the top clubs. I think you may struggle if you bid for a player who can also go to, say, ac milan or whoever, as they may think they have a better future. You will have no problem buying as most of us have, the best players from the slightly worse teams. We did it last year aswell, as did chelsea and l'arse
But, by the same merit: Young - same as Downing. Jones - from Blackburn, a club going nowhere fast, apart from the Championship. De Gea - Atletico Madrid haven't qualified for European competition, and have no chance of winning the league for the foreseeable future.
How has he been a flop? Was it the way he helped us back into the game against Man City in the Charity Sheild? Was it the way he won us the game against West Brom on his Man Utd league debut? Was it the way he took apart Arsenal? He did more in those 3 games than all your summer signings have done since making their debuts.
read the last line... i just think you'll struggle if you try to sign someone from a team in the CL in a good league
Could anyone in the prem (bar City, and that's purely because of the wages they offer) attract anyone in the first XI from say: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Bayern Munich..? I don't think the Milans are particularly great teams at the moment, nor the Italian league in general, but people will always go there for the reputation.
City found it easy enough, they just dangled a financial carrot an the greedy bastards did'nt worry about CL football.
I personally think United could attract players from both the Milan teams pretty easily - in fact Inters star player says he was very close to signing for us this summer. I even think Liverpool could possibly attract Inter first team players. Regardless of Europe players will always be interested in United and Liverpool as we are massive clubs with brialliant history and tradition
i reckon we could perhaps get someone from bayern and inter, but definitely not the galacticos and probably not AC. Chelski might be able to get someone from everyone but the Spaniards. But it's hard to shift players from top clubs when they have a good thing going. weather/lifestyle etc. all play a part and its just not as easy as it used to be to sign players. they signed some players from arsenal, a player from partizan, a goalkeeper on loan and a player from the same team we bought de gea. The year before, they signed yaya (fair enough, on that one. but did he feel threatened by the iminent arrival of fabregas. probably not) and balotelli rejoined his former manager after being repeatedly suspended by inter and doing twatish things
