Despite being up to our necks in sticky brown stuff right now, I still believe it was the right decision to sack RH, he wasn’t the RH we’d hired and he’s run his time, many would argue he’d been given 5 months too long.

Back when he was sacked pre WC I was worried about the direction we were going in as the players seemed to be running out of ideas, out of form, out of position, etc .

In a million years, I couldn’t have envisaged us being so woefully worse than we were then, that many of the players who were playing the night we beat Spuds could now run round a football pitch with no positional awareness, no attacking prowess or urgency, no ability to defend as a team or individuals, no tactical awareness and have reverted to route one football.

We are now royally f*cked, any player who has eyes who SR have spent the last few days tapping up will be rightly getting their agents to look a bit harder for another club and anyone we can get through the door (bound and gagged potentially) is quite possibly not the right kind of player we need.

If SR and Semmens hide over the next few weeks and pull a Sunak/Barclay with their head in the sand over this one, they will struggle to win back any fans they might’ve had…. They need to act now, I still believe with the right manager and some astute signings, we have hope…. But otherwise and let’s face it, probably, we’re down….

I’ve never seen the fans as negative and pessimistic as we are right now. The appointment of NJ has spectaCularly backfired.

still think we should be going for Jaissle

It's getting so desperate now, I would go for Sean Dyche. He knows the Premier League, and for those saying he plays boring football, and did see an interview with him, he mentioned he made Burnley play a more direct game, due to using the strengths of his squad. We are in deep, deep trouble to bring in a coach who knows nothing of the league.

I’m actually quite pissed off at this. I thought the ‘football people’ would make good football decisions!? What on earth is going on. Jones post match comments smacks of denial, and there is bit of scapegoating going on. Not a good sign. Solak should be asking questions.

Go now and desperately hope for a new manager bounce that could win us some points we’d otherwise have dropped

What happens if the next manager loses his first four games too? We sacking him too?

Good point. shall we agree to give him 12-14 weeks with the squad?

I know I know, but it’s a pretty desperate position. I wish no ill on the guy, just not be our manager. I’m no businessman, but Solak must be weighing up the odds of relegation versus pay off! I just don’t know.

At that point it ceases to matter. Say we had that manager in place for Everton. Four straight losses would leave us with 12 points in 22, and we have a very challenging run-in that would make getting 1.5+ points/match pretty unlikely. Our odds of survival at that point are next to nil, so keep them, sack them, replace them with a fan chosen in a raffle, it's largely immaterial as far as our fate goes.

So you’re giving Jones until mid February then?

Just appoint the correct bloke that is a good fit and can inspire and coach the young players, so that even when we go down, we can actually have a chance of coming back up.

If this guy stays we will plummet through the championship as well

This is why for me, we stick, we say oh get another man in and if we go down he can get us back up. But if we stick with Jones and we go down, we can still get rid of him and appoint someone else to get us back up, that part doesn't really matter to me.

Imagine we appoint a relegation battle specialist and still go down, that guy may not be a promotion specialist.

I say we stick with Jones, back him and what will be will be. It was their decision to appoint him, he hasn't even had any new blood in the door yet FFS!

Sorry but I completely disagree. Jones is taking us down. That much is clear to me. BUT we are only 3 points off 17th. A good manager could get us out of this mess.

You’re looking at our team in rose tinted glasses. It’s ****, Ralph couldn’t get anything from it and it got worse and worse every game went by.

Someone summed it up above in regards to Libby’s comment. The next manager could lose his first 4 games and they wouldn’t care as it won’t be Jones.

Agree with this. Ralph was doing badly and Jones now even worse - which is clearly because we downgraded in manager. But still, even if we had got a better manager in, this side are going down.

Replace jones or not, the only way we stay up is with minimum 4 new first team additions that all hit the ground running.

We should have gone all out for Jaissle in the first place.
