We paid money for him but it releases a wage that was definitely greater than his worth..

Really bizarre something must have gone seriously wrong in training since he joined us, or maybe thinks he is better than what he is( although haven't seen enough of him on a decent run of games to have an opinion)

He is probably already in Ipswich. We could have at least got a bag of carrots from them!

It is odd they always seem to focus on him in the Inside Training videos. He looked active and enjoying it, yet hardly got a kick in games. While we have been scoring so little I'm surprised he wasn't tried more playing off Dykes.

Wouldn't surprise me, fully expect Boro and Brom to both make the play offs, now they've dispensed with their previous managers !

Charlie, a great servent for us, and scored some memorable goals.
But he has had his day,he may still have something to offer in the lower leagues but not in the Championship.

On fire at the moment are Boro. Heard from a mate who coaches up there that they're trying to get hold of Laird by getting scum to recall him. Not sure how true

Can't see why Utd would recall him just to loan him out to another Championship side, especially as the 2 wingbacks Boro have are top class. Even if they did I wouldnt be too despondent as Kakay has played really well when he's been called on. We really need to be putting all our resources into finding a striker. I have to say I'm not impressed that we haven't already got one in, I would've thought that we'd been looking at possibilities as soon as the last window shut. Silly me really, as I know deep down we won't be getting anything but a loan done until the end of the transfer window. Depressing really !

I questioned it myself but he's not replied to me since. Might just be an attempt to wind me up.

Good point. I feel a bit conflicted because I doubt he was ever going to be good enough, but beyond a few months when he first signed, we never really gave him a decent run in the side. I do think players need at least a full season before they can be completely written off, and we're not good at being patient with players but we have to be if we're going to really commit to a model of improving players and selling them on.

Agree. Everything took a big step backwards when he went to Ipswich on loan and started campaigning for a permanent move there (with Ipswich deciding not to do despite fans wanting it - says something). Seemed to create a lot of tension. Maybe he, or us, never quite got over it and he seemed to lose any determination to succeed here. Disappointing, when you spend money you can I’ll afford to waste, that it doesn’t work out. I hope Kelman is looking on with interest - he needs to use his loan move to step up and push for a squad/starting place. We certainly need goals.

Bonne didn’t show the credentials to get there unfortunately (and if you’re gonna have a stand-out-there hairstyle, you need to have something behind it to make it worth it too).

Connor Wickham available, knows where the net, is only 29 and could do a job till end of season on a short term loan.
