Which means that we're going down the dull as **** percentage football where we never try to attack and actually win games away from home route.

    No thanks.

Bring in someone with the same playing style as Hassenhuttl had in the first 18 months, and sign a couple of players (they have to hit the ground running of course) and we have a chance I think.

Agreed. It’s not done and dusted, but it is, embarrassingly so, unless we move NJ on right now.

Maybe throw all of the money at Poch? Actual trucks of cash backing up to his front door.

Yeah this. Needs a mobile striker who's gonna get at least 6/7 goals though most likely so still a big ask.

He won’t come. But this is all the stuff we really should have done pre World Cup, rather than betting the family jewels on a massive gamble.

I still like Mara to be that down the road; he was quite threatening for those first few matches where we actually tried to move the ball quickly (on the ground) and he had space to operate. But we definitely need a more immediate goal threat.

And we absolutely need someone to provide the link between midfield and attack that can also create chances...Elyounoussi has actually done a credible job of shepherding the ball forward, but he has zero end product, and we really need end product.

To be fair to Jones, he did say he was aiming to reunite the fanbase

He's completely out of his depth. He's also completely delusional based on his comments tonight. He should have said it was complete dogshit and things need to improve but no, he bangs on about having 60% possession. Twat.

Which is deeply ironic, because the thing that worked at Luton was producing a high volume of chances while not having a lot of the ball, by exploiting space and getting at defenses early. And now he's crowing about having a lot of the ball (in front of a packed, organized defense) and doing absolutely nothing with it?

In hindsight I think it should have been done in the Summer.

Sacking all the coaching staff off to give a Ralph a chance and then stitching him up on the striker was a complete waste of time and gave us no margin of error or bedding in period for the next manager.

There was obviously plenty of doubt at the time so they probably should have just made the decision then, particularly if they were looking toward a manager playing a different style.

Also true. But hiring Jones is the worst move of the lot. The opportunity was there to make a smart, progressive, fresh appointment.

    But stats.

You know my feelings on the overuse of stats in the game.

I wonder if De Zerbi was on our radar last summer when we were considering Ralph's position.

I completely disagree. This is completely salvageable, but the owners need to act now to change things. There is nothing wrong with changing a plan - it's ridiculous not to in some circumstances, and can show good leadership - but they need to accept they took an insane risk which is clearly not going to take us anywhere but down, and they need to be talking to experienced managers atm and have a plan for what they need to do this window to get things back on track. We're not even halfway through the season and also not massively adrift yet.

Apparently he ‘had admirers in the club’, yes. But then they would say that now.

I've actually asked for a refund for the City game next week and that's the first time I've ever done that. Whether I get my money back or not is up for debate, but I have absolutely no intention of going and watching us get absolutely twatted.
