So out of his depth, it's not his fault as who wouldn't go for the job as a step up but he seems completely clueless, SR are to blame with their appointment, what a massive **** up.
Never thought I’d be calling for a manager’s head after so few games. I really wanted it to work, but it was obvious from the start he was completely out of his depth. Saying in a presser that 5 at the back didn’t suit the players we have, being proved right over and over again, but still persisting with it? Leaving our best CB on the bench, as well as our most creative midfielder, time and time again? No, I’m done. Tonight please, and I honestly don’t care if we appoint Tony Pulis tomorrow. Anybody is better than this.
Quite possible that Jones can talk tactics and plans as well as anyone from the comfort of his office, but he's managing scared right now. No plan survives contact with the enemy, and Jones has shown zero ability to adapt and zero courage in his setup...he's playing a damage-limitation game at a time when we need to take risks to get points, and he's failing even to limit damage. It's not merely that his current approach isn't working; it won't work, full stop. And if he cannot see that, he needs to go.
Personally I would love to have Dyche as our manager. He performed miracles with Burnley and at least his team had an identity and his players knew exactly what they were doing. Our players are lost right now with a manager who is completely out of his depth.
I'm not interested in any manager who doesn't try to win the vast majority of games and plays dull football.
What's to say Dyche keeps this team up from here anyway? Certainly no better than the Burnley squad last season and not a Dyche one by any means.
Agree. I don’t like his style but he did something to that team that made them work. I wouldn’t want him long term, but a good cohesive team playing dull football has got to be better than a poorly led bunch of players who don’t know what they’re doing?
I don’t want dyche to be honest, but at least he plays competent hoofball. Tonight was a tactical mess. A rookie manager, managing rookie players. Who is a totally different style to all the players we brought in. Shambles
Yeah Jones is essentially playing like Dyche would play. Only way it works is if we bring in 3/4 new players to suit that style. Notably a centre back and big target man forward
I said it on the match thread, but the players themselves were awful today as well. I can’t believe a manager would be telling players not to make runs or show for their team mates when we have the ball, they’ve given up
