Gotta be honest but I do struggle to see what Gil offers. Skipp looks well short of match fitness. Our passing has gone to pot. Kane and Son look like strangers.
How isn't that a yellow for a dive? He knows there's no contact, but still appeals for the penalty. Then there's another. Diving ****s.
Skipp in the book. He's miles off the pace. That's purely from Ayew's complaint, though. Oliver's very slow with his cards. Might be an idea to get him off at half-time.
Perisic sold Skipp short there and now he’s booked. May have to come off at HT though, lack of games is showing.
Skipp is a liability and now on a yellow. Probably needs taking off otherwise a red waiting to happen.
0-0 HT. A half of two halves. Started well, ended poorly. I think that Conte should consider taking off Skipp and Gil at the break. Both clearly struggling, despite showing plenty of effort and endeavour.
We had a good first 15/20, looked much more dynamic with our movement and with crisper passing we were able to get into some good situations. Found the switch to Doherty in space quite a few times. Then they seemed to wake up, Palace were winning all the second balls and we couldn’t find a pass at all. Gil has some good touches and shows good feet but his lack of strength or outstanding pace really shows at times. Skipp looks off the pace. At least we weathered the second part of the half, always nervous when we don’t score after a period of dominance.
