So KD says we are after Surridge, now Nixon reckons we aren’t in that market, no one truly knows anything do they
Completely agree Cumbrian, for all we know it was Everton who prevented Broadhead from coming back, they may not have wanted two of their young players competing for minutes at the same club. I would have him back like a shot
I still believe he would be a great addition to the squad, would love to see him back, Not sure what Speakman thinks mind.
Speakman sang his praises massively after his loan ended. Basically said he would work to get him back to the club.
I would hope he holds no grudges. His job is to do the right thing by the club. It is only 6 months since he was so full of praise for him, so unless Broadhead did something which brings into question his character, I would like to think Speakman would revisit the chance to sign him if it is there.
Broadhead was great for us last season but am yet to see anything to suggest he can cut it in The Championship. I wouldn’t have a big issue regards his refusal to sign in the summer, its more about his ability at this level
Don't think he'd getting a decent turn out with Wigan whatever the reason for that is. He's got a few goals in a really poor team and think with our setup he'd bag a decent amount for us second half of the season. He knows the club and seems keen to come, don't know the full story as to why his move to us fell through, if there ever was a deal close to being finalised.
What I saw of Broadhead in that brief cameo against Arsenal in the league cup suggests to me that he could (if he remains injury-free) cut it in the Championship.
Broadhead is a good player and I wouldn't turn my nose up at him coming in as a squad player. He's been playing for an awful wigan team who just hoof the ball and play for corners, it was never going to suit him. Nobody knows what went on as to why he didn't come back. Get him back as our 3rd choice striker/back up for the wide players if we pick up injuries. Personally i'd rather take a risk on a younger player on loan then sign someone else who's more experienced and happy to sit on the bench to replace Simms. Jayden Braaf is an interesting one, now at Dortmund but in their development team rather than the first team. Came through City's EDS, definitely someone i'd take a gamble on loaning in. Plays a bit like Depay, can play as a striker but better wide because he's quick and great with the ball at his feet. Christian Rasmussen, currently at Ajax albeit playing for their development squad in the 2nd tier of Dutch football. Marquinos from Arsenal would've been a shout had Jesus not got injured. He's now occupying the bench whilst playing u21's football during the week but never comes on, doubt they'd loan him out with no cover for Nketiah though. Mateo Joseph from Leeds, only 19 and buzzing around the first team already. Scored a couple of hat tricks in u21 football for them this season. Very lightweight but good on the ball and would be a player to bring on alongside Stewart if we're chasing the win.
Starting to think simms will be back on loan come the end of the window, just hope we get someone else in in the meantime not comfortable going 3 weeks with just ross
