Same team for me. Especially hope we try ABK and DCC in a four to see how they get on. I think Salisu has been really bad this season and is living on his past good performances. In answer to the relegation question, I don’t see why anyone thinks we are better than Forest. Every time I watch them I see a team that is gelling more and more under a decent manager. If I was a Forest fan, I’d be feeling like saintmagic’s friend. And if they beat us tonight then we are proper ****ed. When I watch saints I see the worst team in the league. (Bournemouth bottled it but we by no means dominated them. That was also under Ralph) Hopefully that all changes tonight and we get a positive performance
I understand that Ralph had to be sacked but isn’t hindsight a wonderful thing? Looking back now maybe all Ralph needed was that long break during the World Cup to re-energise his broken spirit. He looked completely burnt out with the pressure he was under but his commitment to the cause was never in doubt. The thing that baffles me is last year when Semmens gave a podcast interview he said that having done their research Sports Republic knew the name of Ralph’s replacement but they had missed out. The way Semmens spoke suggested the next manager after Ralph would be of a high calibre, to carry on with a high press style of football. It certainly didn’t sound like he was talking about Nathan Jones and his style of football. Having said that, this is a big game tonight against Forest and should be Nathan’s bread and butter having played them in the Championship. I just hope his knowledge of Forest is a bit better than his awareness of Fulham. Southampton 3 Nottingham Forest 2
Have just seen this lightshow described by the club as a "groundbreaking lightshow, the like of which has never been seen before". Does anyone else find it hilarious how much they are bigging it up? I'm half expecting Danny Ings to appear mid-show, Santi Cazorla style
Any poll would have us in bottom 4 & more than likely bottom 3. However, there is time to put that right but it must start tonite.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/eng_div_1/7775852.stm I remember being sick in bed with mumps when this game was being played by two relegation battling teams. Put probably my biggest bet on Southampton to win to cheer me up....Sick again today but certainly won't be putting any bets on!! I had a funny sense of misplaced optimism that day as I do today. Hope lightning doesn't strike twice. Saints to win a nervy 2-1
The only thing that will melt for me is the ice in my extremely large bourbon. For others;- please log in to view this image
The 19:30 kick off is the most infuriating for me. Had to leave the office at 4, to make it to my parents for 5. Leaving little time for dinner and a pint before the game. Especially as I don’t want to miss the light show
As it will be if we draw. And if we win, well, it was only Forest, so we can't claim it as any sign that things are on the up. Vin
I'm actually looking forward to going 2-0 down with 15 mins left only to win 3-2. Reading back the thread will be hilarious. Actually the thing I miss about going is reading the thread back after the game as when I am there I never read the thread. Comedy gold if we go 1 or 2 down and then get something. Though to be fair Leeds was the last time we did that or maybe Leicester away.
I do get excitement in the pit of my stomach now when we get humped, coming home to read through a meltdown or 7
