And he scored an absolute beauty vs Morocco in the third-place playoff in Qatar.

Why are so many people bed wetting about transfers when it is only day 3 of January?

Isn't it obvious that a team struggling at the bottom of the league will take a bit longer than a team near the top to sign someone?

There are many moving parts so unless you are Haaland signing for City, then you are gonna send the feelers out to nay other clubs, you will hold on to see if you can get more money or a bigger club etc.

Luckily not every player can sign with the big clubs so there are plenty of players available to sign, it's just whether you can convince them to sign for you.

We will get players over the line and we will stay up so chill Winston!

Probably because of the urgency, the fact that we look unlikely to win any games without a couple of key signings, and the history of not signing a striker in the summer when it was clear we needed one.

Im not saying we won’t sign anyone, but I can understand why people are panicking. I know a couple of wins changes a lot, but right now we don’t look likely to beat anyone.

I definitely want to see real urgency from the club, but there's also the matter of international clearance. Some teams seem perfectly happy to announce deals before players have received clearance (which is much less of a guessing game now), others seem to wait until it's given. Makes it difficult to know what stage anything is at.

Because we are running out of winnable games.

Every six pointer we play without a striker and only one CM is a huge, huge failure by everyone at the club.

It’s not panicking or bed wetting to point out obvious errors.

Whilst i disagree with much of your general pessimism, i have to agree with you on this point. I don't think we should already have players signed up, but the longer it takes, the more fooked we are!

This month is massively crucial. Just look at our next two league fixtures; if we can get players in early we have a real shout of picking up some much needed points:
    14/1 - Everton
    21/1 - Villa

    After this we have:
    4/2 - Brentford
    11/2 - Wolves

The earlier we can get them in this month, the more time they will have to bed-in for two crucial Feb games also.

Is this the odds against us winning, or the dates that we're losing on? :emoticon-0102-bigsm

4-2 against Brentford is far too generous for it to be the former.

Yeah, that was the one that threw the pattern, missing a 1 somewhere :emoticon-0102-bigsm

You might be able to tell that I'm not sure where the next point is coming from

And that's why I'm "bedwetting" it's all well and good the posters getting all excited because we're linked with player x and player y, but these deals should have already been done. The Saints social media team should be doing jazzy posts announcing them. They should be ready for our crunch games this month. It's been more obvious than ever before that this year we're truly ****ed without a very busy window.

Instead we're getting tenuous links on twitter which are usually just agents putting their players on the market.

By not having players ready for tonight SR have majorly ****ed up. The sooner we admit they've been a disaster for this club the better

Calling them a disaster is a major reach. They’ve made mistakes, yes, they’re likely learning, yes. But disaster? Ha, no. Nowhere near.

What makes you think they're learning?

The decisive action around Ralph in the summer?
    The appointment of Jones?
    Our busy transfer window?
Their articulated plan of how we're getting out of this?
Or maybe that table which shows our 90/92 ranking for the worst clubs in the FL?

They spunked a load of money on a bunch of kids in the summer. Not to make our team better, oh no. Their special moneyball computer told them that they're the players with the best resale value. Awesome. Great job.

When we go down will you think they're a disaster then?

No. A disaster is ownership that takes us into administration. Anything other than that is essentially poor management.

I think they’re likely learning because what else are they going to be doing? I suspect we’ll see some signings this window that lean more toward experience, which shows that yes, they’re learning.

Not jealous at all. We are a shambles compared to Brentford
