Yep. The players looked happier, but let’s face it it’s the same football, same problems. Flattering to deceive. We need a change in system.

If Jurgen Klinsmann doesn't get the job then another USA German would do

Somebody needs to do one of those Hitler rant subtitles funnies with Webber as the Austrian artist.

So a short list of 4 managers, 2 of which aren’t in the betting odds at all.
Webber said it was time to hit reset, emphasising a return to style of play and a manager that can galvanise the fan base.
I do like when he comes out and speaks, just wish he would do it more often recently.

No that's what we don't need, we've had enough changes this season as it is we need to pick a couple and stick with. there's a reason the players never look like they played together before.

Frankly, I think that’s arguing the other side to the same coin, not disagreeing with me. What’s happened so far is not working on the pitch - I am fine with picking one of the systems we have already used (if that system works…) but we need a better system. The one today did not work.

The players looked well up for it and the fans are back supporting, so that’s two problems solved. But it’s all pointless if we don’t find a system that gets the best out of the quality in the players we have, and minimises their weaknesses. Whatever that system is, it’s not today’s one.

I think the main problem is confidence after a bad run. There were some good points though, as a partnership between Sara and Nunez seems to be forming. As I recall, Wagner's Huddersfield progressed the ball through the thirds quickly and efficiently before the opposing defence was settled. There were glimpses of the one touch passing needed for that but it wasn't consistent and that's what the new manager will need to instill.

From what I have read, Wagner has had modest managerial success in both Germany and Switzerland. His notable success was several years ago and he is unlikely to be able to replicate this success in the time available.

Thanks for that dose of positivity CitySlicker <laugh>

Let's try to give him a chance, he did well in his previous stint in English football. Webber has worked with him so they should be able to hit the ground running in terms of their relationship - that's a positive.

A foreign manager, with experience in this league and the PL, worked with SW before, plays positive pressing football - a lot of boxes ticked I think

Apparently a rolling contract of 12 months, which seems sensible.

I'm just happy it's not Steve Bruce, tbh.

I think we're all a bit disillusioned at the moment. I was impressed with his assistant reviewing footage of Blackburn's recent games on the plane over to develop a match strategy. Let's give them a chance.

Certainly mitigating factors with his spells at Schalke and Young Boys, so we'll see. Seems like a sensible enough appointment given circumstances. Curious who the others in the running were, although I get the impression we had a runaway favourite.

I would imagine Scott Parker said no , and if the question was raised about the War Chest size that would have spooked anyone else .

I'm happy to give Wagner a chance but it appears Webber has royally messed up his end with recruitment, Wagner has been fired from his last two jobs so they are hoping a Huddersfield top brass tribute act may work as a last roll of the dice.

If reports are true that we pissed away our parachute payments already trying to stay up and for promotion this season, I wouldn't call that a careful self funding model .

The millions spent on Rashica Tzolis and Sara about £25-30m seems to have been pissed up the wall , Hayden was loaned injured and barely featured.

Ramsey sent back , Placheta returned to us injured .

We have lost money on pretty much everyone we signed last season and this perhaps Sargent has kept his €9.5m price tag if we need to cash in to balance the books .

IF we fail to get promoted we could easily slip into the red again after gambling on the club's future again .

All that hard work and Premier tv money flushed down the ****ter.

Wow, Duncan, I thought I was the official Norwich Not606 miserabilist.

I agree the last 18 months have been awful, but it's just possible that this could be a turning point. At least Smith has gone, so he can't do anything else to drag the club down any further. As someone who has wanted him out since before the end of last season, it's felt a very long slog, but we have to hope now that Wagner can turn it around.

I don't expect much immediately - the rot is too deep. And I'm worried that the rot is a lot deeper than Smith and Webber lies at the root, but it's possible he's learned from his mistakes and can become a positive for the club again, not the disaster of the last 18 months.

Well with no money he'll be tasked with turning this group of underperformers into a side capable of promotion.

Usually the new guy will bring in his own men but this will only be possible if we get anything from Cantwell Aarons or anyone else to raise a few quid .

We have been in much worse situations but I'm not filled with optimism.

At least we got rid of Dean Smith and his bumbling sidekick Shaky I guess

I'm still having a bottle of wine each day and celebrating this fact as I drink.

I hope we dispense with the services of Mr GQ as well. Someone who seemed to give more thought to what he would wear for his big opportunity rather than what he would do regarding the football should be nowhere near our club.

As for Webber, it's up to him whether he's ready to try to correct everything that has gone wrong under his leadership, including mending fences with fans and ending his petty vendetta with the local press. He's definitely got talent if he wants to use it positively instead of spending his time squabbling with everyone. I fear he's a busted flush - he certainly looked it in the Sky interview - but I sincerely hope not.
