I certainly did see some calls for him to be sacked after the display against Swansea, but it would be fair to say that people were lashing out at everyone at the club.

Bit bitter from Norwich in some places?

If they thought that was a good display against our make shift team they must have seen a few real shockers!

I found this interesting and another example of why I want Bilić to be trusted and held onto. Best manager we have had in many a year imho. Watch the whole thing.

Watched the highlights on the Watford website

First half was all us and we could have been leading by two or even three goals, second half was mostly them, but we looked more likely to score

One of the commentators was definitely a Norwich supporter and stated after we scored that the Norwich player should have taken Sarr out, he would have been red carded but would have been worth it to stop us scoring

And Millwall think everyone is against them

I actually thought that was a fair comment. If we were the team in yellow, I would have been complaining that the defender was too weak and needed to stop the player come what may at that stage of the game. It’s hardly the Corinthian spirit I know, but it’s part of the game.

We had more shots on target whilst they were limited to long range shots (one after Kabasele went down ) which were close 2nd half but nothing clear cut.

Sarr did well to ride the tackle and get the cross in and the pass from Asprilla was very good .

Was worried they might have got a penalty from some refs when Bachmann came rushing out !

You know the aphorism ( big word!) "What a difference a day makes".... well what a difference a game makes eh.......and winning tow our of the last four is so much better than losing three out of four... .and we are in the playoffs again......and that may be our best bet overall as the top two are so far ahead...

The struggle for me is still that even with some of our injured players back, we're so far off being competitive in the Premier League if we got promoted, so I'm finding it hard to get excited about pushing for the play-offs. If we did go up, we would have to radically overhaul almost the entire squad, or just accept another tame relegation.

    Yes that is true .

We and most other teams would need a Forest style over haul and well that wouldn’t guarantee a good season .

Yes... but are we caught up in that dynamic... I remember GT saw us as a yo yo team...and when we wnet up with him that last time we were poor.

Unless of course our owners were able to draft in some very good players..... I trust Bilic... and would want him to stay with us

It does feel very different from the first season under the Pozzos or the other two promotion seasons where I had some belief if we went up we could stay up. This feels to me more like the season after relegation with Boothroyd where we kept most of our players, even added to the squad, but staggered into the playoffs and lost to Hull. It felt like even if we did go up it would be a bit pointless.

I agree, there's no point in going up unless we can do ourselves credit there and going up with our present squad, or even with a few Pozzo additions (the quality of which has gone down over the years) would be an accident waiting to happen.

Difficult one eh... .As I imagine the financial plan has to be based on increasing income by promotion...as they are throwing so much money into the club.....if we stay down... then what might happen?

The gap is definitely bigger than it was. Everything is skewed towards the big clubs now, has been steadily growing since the inception of the Prem and especially since oligarch / Arabian money started rolling in. Even our benevolent owners are seeking more investment I believe.

Each Pozzo promotion we have brought in double didget transfers. So it's perfectly possible to scrape promotion and survive in the prem.

When you look at the EPL table you can see plenty of teams we can empathise with:
Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton, Fulham, Palace, Southampton, Forest, Villa, Wolves.

We should be able to compete with those teams if we were promoted. Obviously that is unlikely right now.
