They clearly have the same feeling about them that we did before we dropped in 2017. No matter what I think of Lampard as a manager (not a lot) I don't think that there anyone who'd really do any long term improvements for them. A new manager bounce might keep them up, but it's only delaying the inevitable.

Koeman did well one season and had a bad start the next that saw him replaced by Allardyce, who did well to keep them up and get them to comfortable mid table, but the fans didn't want him because of his style of football. Probably looking at it they should have either given Koeman more time or stuck to their guns with BSA, as it looks like there wasn't much wrong that couldn't be fixed then. Ancelotti did well, but quit after one season to take over at Real. OK, it's Real Madrid, but he must have known something was wrong behind the scenes to leave, as you're only ever a handful of games from being sacked at Real. The other appointments seem like knee jerk or "this is fashionable" appointments and the money they've wasted in recent years is beyond a joke. If they do drop, they're in big trouble. To me they have at best 3 saleable assets. Pickford, Calvert Lewin and Gordon, who's had a lot of hype last season. Outside of those I can't see anyone who they'd get decent money for and truth be told I don't think they'd get all that much for them, especially if they drop. With their other overheads and the new ground, the EFL FFP could cripple them for a good few years.

Pickford is the one to watch, you can't have the England number one playing in the second tier.
