how much of that fortress was down to the passionate unwavering support of the fans and how much down to how the club ran its match days I wonder.
Probably more to do with the combined ability of the team and coaching/management rather than either of those.
That's a shame. Would have quite liked to watch this one but can't justify £60 for me and nipper right now.
Most kids are back at school so they’ll probably be tucked up in bed. I wonder if the pitch is going to be covered with these wristband thingy’s. Can’t see me keeping mine & don’t reckon it’ll get much on eBay.
The worst home record v the worst away record doesn't suggest it will be a great match. If Lavia is back for this there is a lot of pressure on a young player who has been out for the best part of 4 months to be our saviour, but in reality he'll likely be rusty and take some time to get back up to speed.
From what I saw of the Forest v Chelsea game (2nd half) Forest pressed high and were right in the faces of the Chelsea CBs when the keeper played it short to them. Bearing in mind that our CBs can be a little bit clumsy, when it comes to close control of the ball, I hope we don’t make things difficult for ourselves and get caught out, even if it means the alternative is for the keeper to go long.
I feel like Saints have lost 2-1 at home, with the winner scored after 75 mins, far too often in recent years. Would not surprise me if this happens again, but really hope not.
I don't feel like any Saints fan is optimistic about Jones. Some are in the 'give him time' camp, and some are 'get him out now', but very few seem that behind him. He's going to need to prove a lot of people wrong if he's to succeed here. Lose tomorrow night and he's in real trouble, because I think we'll lose the two upcoming cup matches, in which case he'll have a lot of losses building up in not very many games.
Sky have just announced that they have changed their live fixture for Wednesday to Saints v Forest so that everybody can get a look at the light show. Also included in this spectacular event will be the final of the darts which has been moved back by 24 hours and will now take place in the centre circle at St Marys
I’m in the give time camp, which is optimistic no? With every new manager I would say give them time.
Whilst I get the frustration and angst, Nathan Jones is not the reason for where we are now. He has 21 games to overcome the present difficulties and see The Saints retain their PL status. We cannot have a revolving door to the Manager's office. That parlous state belongs to Watford etc. The players are not going to magically change their game as fast as most of us would like. We humans tend to revert to type when under certain pressure and with respect to Ralph they had too many games with his often confusing tactics. Jones knows that and I think and very much hope he'll prove a lot of people wrong and succeed by getting a better reaction to what he wants them to do. The WC break has not helped in an early and unnecessary press on the panic button. We the fans have to be the 12th man on match days as many already are, not the constant beat of a 'sack the manager' movement.
Someone posted the 2022 PL & EPL total results link the other day. Can’t find. An advance tank you if someone could post the link again. Cheers.
