Just seen his Interview on lutv… speaks better English than cooper. Came across well. Deliberately refused to get drawn on his best or favoured position. let’s hope he’s as efficient on the pitch as he is with the media.
Having played for Ajax and then sold on to Seville the guy can obviously play. My question would be why Seville let him go relatively cheaply ? Suppose he could have run his contract dowm similar to what's happened at Salzburg....or he's slow and a liability
Strange one with Seville… he went on loan first then they paid a reasonable amount to sign him (making a slight profit for Ajax) then flogged him (again for only a slight profit to redbull). He was only a boy then… now 3 years later redbull extend his contract in the summer and sell him for (allegedly) around what they bought him for. He was obviously a highly rated young talent whose career hasn’t quite progressed as expected. Make or break time for him…and Jesse maybe… with this one?
Sorry I ended my sentence too short, that comment about on the quality of the West Ham team, it should have referenced relegation chances and I don't see them staying that low
Yep and he better be giving it all during the warm up as well. To be fair you can usually tell if someones got potential after their first foot race. Apparently reports in the media describe him as quick (ish) but you don't get pacy defenders for £10M very often so we'll see.
This is the 4th Red Bill buy done by Marsch so deffo his buys and his team. Someone mentioned Wober will know Marsch’s tactics and be able to get straight in, I’m not too sure as I suspect Aaronson, Kristensen and Adams are still struggling at times as Marsch has changed style a couple of times this season. Lets hope Marsch now knows what suits the team best and gets some results. Nothing wrong with the opposition knowing how you will set up as long as the players do their jobs because knowing and trying to counter it are not easy
Totally agree, if the plan is to play him at CB that's where he needs to play. What I would hate is for Jesse to feel that CB is the 'eventual' plan but for now we'll use him as a LB and risk ruining his reputation with the fans and his own confidence if he fails. We've seen James ruined playing as a striker, we are seeing Harrison destroyed playing on the right, I do hate it when a player "can" play a second position as they always seem to end up in it
That’ll be me fella. We’ve kind of tried to park the bus the last couple of games I agree - so if that’s the plan for the season then who knows, but generally marsch has a style of play that changes little regardless of formation and wober will know how that works and how marsch operates. How much that will help in reality is anyone’s guess. I suspect Rasmus and Brendan’s challenges have been the quality of the opposition more than not understanding what they were trying to do… but just my take.
Well it's no secret, I wouldn't have kept Jesse in the hot seat, the board are obviously backing him 100% as we now have our 4th Red Bull player. I have never wanted to be so wrong about a coach before, if Jesse screws up we are in for serious problems or we are going to have to recruit an ex Red Bull coach otherwise it is back to square one I'm sorry the more I think about it the more something seems desperately wrong with Jesse not being able to coach or work with players that he hasn't done before. For the 5th consecutive season, we are signing targets chosen by the coach, surely we could sign a new player with the wages we'd have saved employing Orta
seems to be the modern way risty… especially at Leeds. Multi-faceted players who can ‘do a job’ in multiple positions thus facilitating a smaller squad. unfortunately all rounders are often not quite up to it in any position
The difference is we seem to always play them in that position they don't actually favour With our CBs all signing new contracts you just know this guy is coming in as a LB, who knows, maybe he will be a better LB than he would a CB, fingers crossed he hits the ground running and is an improvement wherever he plays
